I grew up in a household where speaking properly was expected, debate was an entertaining pastime, and reading was enjoyed. Although I've mellowed over the years and try not to jump down people's throats anymore about obvious grammatical errors, it does concern me that such basic errors are so commonplace. Your thoughts are welcome: Do you think people make such errors out of laziness (just not paying attention), ignorance, or deliberately? If deliberately, why? If in ignorance, how can people go through at least 12 years of school and not learn this basic information? Quoting: archery mom In my opinion? Ignorance. I hate to say it, but the average education of the average GLP'er is much lower than the average American. People switching their/they're/there, threw/through, etc...and it's not foreign speakers. It's born and raised Americans that really don't know the difference. Plain and simple, the average GLP IQ is nothing to brag about.
