Why are there so many Commercials on TV??

To pay the bills.

what bills? they are already getting $100 a month from everyone that has cable... thats a shit load of money!

Sometimes they are so many of them I forget what the fuck I was watching in the first place

I understand thats the cable company but they have to give some of that money to the networks... right??

if you ever pay attention and 'listen' to them...they tell you what to buy, what to wear, what to eat, where to do those things, what kind of drugs you need, what kind of car you should buy, political crap, propaganda ect, ad nauseam ad infinitum.
not to mention the subconscious intake of it all and subliminal messages reinforcing those above among other 'seeded information'...its also cash cow, the cow being YOU.



understand what a TV is and what its used for, not what you think it is...

I always put the tv on mute when they come on... so jokes on them!

Get a DVR... I stopped watching commercials 2 years ago... I record everything I plan on watching, then watch it on a delay so I can Fast Forward through all the commercials... It literally pains me to sit through commercials these days, so I don't!

But you said you don't have cable.

To save YOU money.

If it wasn't for commercials we'd all have to pay extra to fund those stupid home and cooking shows we all don't watch. Then we'd have to put up with 24 hour auctions and begging sessions like PBS has. See how lucky we are ? The people pushing commercials know what's best for us.

I remember when cable first came out it did not have commercials.


That was the whole point of paying for TV, but over time they worked their way back in.

They want you to buy shit you don't need.
Or watch shit you have no interest in.

Same on the internet unless you actively block adds.
I haven't seen an add in ages.

Only watch channel 6 and 12 occasionally and if I do want to watch a movie ...rent one for FREE
at the local library...

I forget what I'm watching too after a 5 minute commercial break. I usually turn it before the program comes back because if I can't remember then the program must not be very interesting in the first place. So...way to go commercial people. If your purpose is to annoy and piss people off...mission accomplished. And I am really thinking of cutting off the cable.

Seriously? You are that stupid? The subscription costs don't even cover the infrastructure costs (you know new equipment, maintaining the network, paying salaries for employees and lots more costs of running a business). Let me guess, you are also one of those people who thinks that magazines and newspapers cover their costs and make a profit through their sale price? You probably also think that books sold at discount stores deliver a profit to the publishers/authors. And of course, you will certainly be one of those people who thinks that all music and movies should be free on the internet because 'its not costing them anything' and they are, obviously, already making loads of money... quite how probably escapes you.
