Pray tell, how does NASA allow info "to become public knowledge" that they learnt about by reading the same Minor Planet Electronic Circulars as anyone else?

It's discredited Planet X for sure!! I think it was an ideal time for the newly awakened to go right back to sleep, i know some who did, they just thought, 'this is all a load of BS'!! Maybe that was part of 'thier' plan!!!

2008 TC3. About an hour and a half after it was first detected, an amateur astronomer was already observing it himself and logging astrometric measurements of its position. Based on the data they had up until that point, a mere 6 astrometric readings in a short span of time, they had no way of knowing if that asteroid was actually going to hit earth or not, but there was a possibility it would impact in December and given its brightness at that time in October, that would mean it was a sizeable asteroid and a serious threat. With only an hour and a half of observations to go on, the orbital determination from that data can neither guarantee nor rule out an impact due to the uncertainty of the orbit determined from such a short span of time. I've run it myself. All they knew was that it would approach earth very closely and might even impact, but the date given by just those first 6 observations was a couple months down the road and indicated the asteroid was still quite far away, meaning it must be quite a sizeable object. It wasn't until 8 hours from then, after amateur astronomers already had the data in hand and were observing it themselves, that they would realize with certainty that this asteroid really was going to hit earth, but that it was going to do so in less than a day, meaning it was much closer to earth than the initial 6 astrometric readings would suggest and therefore much smaller than those 6 readings would suggest.

Based on the astrometric readings they had 8 hours after discovery, I do show an impact occurring on October 7th. Based on just the first set of readings though, from the point at which amateurs first started contributing observations, they had no way of knowing for sure or that it was only a small asteroid. An impact was not out of the realm of possibility for that December, and had it been large enough to be that bright while still that far away in October, it would have meant the asteroid would have been large enough to do some damage. NASA did nothing to try to keep it hidden until they found out that it was actually just a small rock that would do no damage when it hit. They couldn't. The minor planet center already published its discovery.

You did it to yourselves. NASA told you it wasn't a threat, they literally told you, but no one listened. NASA had no control over the name or when it would make its perihelion (which was the 10th, not the 11th, which CT'ers lied about, not NASA). Those were factors out of their hands.

No one has prevented you from doing anything. Many people, both professional and amateur astronomers, tried to tell you it was nothing, you didn't listen. Maybe you should listen next time.

So the million dollar question is what are they distracting us from?

I think it's too early to make any definitive statements on YU55, for obvious reasons. Hopefully the JPL orbital plots are accurate and not some BS disinformation cover-up.
