This is real and highly dangerous. My sister had this done so she could enjoy her second child for awhile before having anymore. When she went to get it removed they couldn't find it. Not only that but it caused chaos in her fertility organs. Her monthly friend was highly "not normal" in any sense of the word. It took a skilled doctor to finally find it and excise it from her body 5 years after she got it and it did a load of damage just them two years. She may never have another child again and is trying desperately to have one naturally like she did before.

Best to take a minimalist approach to the body, which means no "insertions" like the one described, no tattoos, no piercings, etc. I even recommend minimal hair dye.

Last year my doctor gave me an unusually long survey to fill out....asking me if my husband was military....if I have ever been a victim or witness to domestic violence my income and my education level. I asked what the point of this was and it was too determine eligibility for the new implant. I declined the survey and had no interest in the implant, they continued to ask me the questions and write down my answers. Now that I hear this it makes sense.

Are they dissolving? Migrating? Sounds like a eugenicist's dream in any case.

Bottom line -- history has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that we--men, women (all people) need to take charge of our health, do due diligence when it comes to taking drugs, prescriptions, vaccinations, procedures.....

How many drugs and procedures were sold as safe and turned out otherwise.

There should be a running list somewhere to keep regular people informed.

People who "sell" prescription drugs are taught to use the "FAB" method, only discuss "Features, Advantages, and Benefits" don't discuss side effects.

Still.....it is amazing to me that people can watch the commercials on TV for new drugs and listen to the LONG list of horrible side effects which all seem worse than the disorder they are prescribed for....and still want the drug.

I watched my mother die from an addiction to pain medications, prescription narcotics. It is a hell hole that very few are able to climb out of as it destroys your mind, your relationships--getting your "fix" becomes the only goal of your life.

The people who mislead consumers as to the safety of these things should all be in jail.

Off Topic Rant--but people need to wake up and stop believing these "quick fix" medical solutions actually work without serious dangerous consequences.

Made by MERCK... that says everything! Dr. Mercola has plenty of articles about stuff Merck gets away with... they are probably downright sterilizing people on purpose, it would not surprise me.

Your link brought back the memory of the "Contergan children" (as we used to call the Thalidomide victims in Germany), and there are many of them. I don't think 10,000 worldwide is a correct number.

I'm very wary of the pharmaceutical industry as well. My son has never had a shot and is one of the healthiest -- and smartest -- kids in his class. Since we've bought our house, we also have our own well, so no fluoride in the water anymore (and we use tooth powder instead of toothpaste and I've had fights with the dentist about those ridiculous flouride tablets for kids that they try to peddle on the parents).

My family hasn't been to the doctor for years -- in the rare cases of sickness/colds, etc., I cure them easily with home remedies and vitamins. Unless someone gets seriously injured and needs medical attention by a pro, I don't see any reason to go to the doctor.

Back to the topic, though: I'm wondering if this Implanon is a stealthy way to get people used to implants, because from what I see that's still the long-term trend (cashless society, anyone?). What a bummer for the PTB that the implants disappear in the body... not great propaganda, I'm afraid. :)

There may come a time when you know you don't want more children-- for your health, finances or peace of mind. Plenty of natural ways to prevent pregnancy--starting with knowing when you ovulate, barrier methods...

There are actual medication that does work even with bad side effects, the outcome is better than not taking it. But yes, there's tons of other medication that is just absolutely horrible and may or may not help.

Just get an IUD... Far less issues and it's good for up to 10 years. The end.

I had a hellish experience with an IUD and a nearly $10000 emergency room bill after it. My man got fixed now so we don't have to worry about it at all.

I was in excruciating pain for every single day I had that stupid thing in me. Google Mirena, you'll find a LOT of complaints, weird symptoms, etc. MANY have had serious issues.

If they are so big on the eugenicist agenda, why is sterilization so difficult for women to get? I would have loved to get sterilized at 25 after my one and only child but it's like $2500. Who can afford that?

She had Norplant which is the American version of Implanon. 5 capsules were put in her arm by Planned Parenthood with her understanding that they could be removed anytime. She went to get them removed when her second turned 3 and they couldn't find them by feeling for them. They had separated and moved deeper into the arm. She went in for surgery and finally got them removed this year. Her health had deteriorated to the point that she was constantly sick. Her hormones were all over the place and her monthlies were weeklies from hell. I don't wanna go TMI here but let's just say "inhumanly strange". Now that they're gone she's much better and stronger. She was near death when they finally did exploratory surgery to get it out. My other sister who was thinking of getting it changed her mind and decided to get her tubes done instead...good choice as it's worked for me for 10 years now with no adverse affect.
