Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27811313 This radically pro-life theology began in the United States, but is now growing across the world. It encourages Christians to accept ever larger families and to reject ideas of feminism and female equality as ungodly distractions from the divine duty of motherhood. Instead they have chosen to adopt the ‘biblical’ model of a submissive stay-at-home wife, and a husband as leader and primary breadwinner in the household. These doctrines are unusual, even within the evangelical movement, for the overwhelming emphasis which they place on women, women’s bodies and female fertility as a tool to transform society. For some, encouraging larger Christian families is part of a project to outbreed other religions, particularly Islam, winning back the world for Christ one baby at a time. [link to www.bbc.co.uk] Oh gimme a break. Almost everything is getting more and more expensive these days, and these include your daily consumption. Your kids need to go to school, school needs money, cars, petrol, house, utilities, pay this, pay that, and next thing you know, kids going off to college and need MORE money. With lotsa people out of jobs at the moment, how the hell do we expect people to feed more mouths when they can barely look after themselves? It's called PRECAUTIONS. Rather than having kids but not being able to put enough foods on the table for them, or enough clothes to keep them warm, isn't it better not to produce kids in the first place, at least until you're able to get your act together again? Or would you prefer to have kids KNOWING they'll only suffer once they're born? |

[link to www.bbc.co.uk] Yup, it's true. There is a growing movement which takes this position... Bearing in mind that for centuries the very proposition of BC was forbidden throughout the Christian world -- that only changed (in the Protestant community) in the early 20th century with rising concerns about overpopulation in the "developed world". The Catholic position has never changed, although many Catholics have used BC regardless of the church's position. It will be interesting to see where this goes... |

God is not hindered by your condoms or birth control, so feel free to use it. As to the actual fornicating, if you want to increase your spirit, knock it off. OT Annunaki God wants you to populate the Earth Most High God warned us to stay home and not come here. You chose which God to follow. Edit to add: If you're a Conservative Atheist, your job is to outnumber the minorities that are taking over by utilizing their methods of having a million kids. YOU MEN...........how about using a damn condom at least once in awhile!?!? or getting a vasectomy...... or just plain keeping your pants on!?!?! OR MAKING SURE YOUR LADY HAS SOME DAMN FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL; YOU KNOW, THOSE PILLS? OR AN IUD!!! why is this such a big deal!?!?! ya don't want kids, either don't fuck or to the above suggestions. JEEEEEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Having said that, I have also only had sex with women when I was prepared to have a baby with her. 10 years into my most recent relationship, I have managed very well to control what goes inside of my wife and we have a very manageable family of two children. Sadly, BC has become an excuse for inappropriate sexual behaviour. I am not suggesting BC is the problem necessarily, rather I am simply pointing out an attitude that seems to have developed in our western society. We need to learn again how to have sex for the right reasons - love giving/connection, and child creation, and not simply about getting off. |

Protestants believed birth control was a sin up until the early part of the 20th century. Up until the early part of the 20th century, society itself was a natural form of birth control. Premarital sex was greatly frowned on. Since then, we have become a much more sexually permissive society yet family sizes have plunged. |
