As a fellow officer I believe this will be our only saving grace if and when they institute a gun ban. I know nearly everyone at my department, as well as other departments in my county, have said that they will turn in their badges before enforcing this. Of course there are always the few "company men" who will go along with anything. I know the Sheriff, his deputies, and the people who live there. And all I can say is this. I believe the man would die, for his beliefs. So, in theory, a sheriff could deputize 500+men if they instituted a gun ban. Can you imagine if every sheriff across the country did this. Even in small rural counties. 10 extra men, 50 men...whatever helps! |

There will be sheriff's in liberal areas who are more worried about keeping their position and go with whatever the people want, even if that is a gun confiscation. I am confident that these will be few and far between. |

I only hope your words ring true when the time comes! I stand for the 1st just as much!! Many officers get bent out of shape when someone says "F*** the police" or any other comment of the sort. I just take it in stride. We have to be able to speak whatever we feel like speaking. As an officer I am for legalizing and de-criminalizing drug offenses/prostitution. These are areas that are pointless to enforce. Instead of busting a 19yr old kid for a joint we can be stopping someone for stealing the 19yr old's property. |
