This is the second time a Maryland child has been suspended for such play. Earlier this month, 6-year-old Rodney Lynch was suspended from his Montgomery County school after pretending to fire an imaginary gun more than once.

Fuck the police, I had a BB gun when I was a kid and there is nothing wrong with that. It's bullshit though how police enjoy targeting non threatening folks and abuse their rights, but start shitting their pants when a guy like Dorner turns on them. And I see so much today that more than anything, police officers are starting to seem more and more like wannabe soldiers. They think that if they have their cool little rifle topped with trinkets, and a bullet proof vest then they are soldiers. Cops are nothing but wannabe tough guys, who enjoy picking on those who can't defend themselves, while simultaneously allowing the truly bad people to escape.

well... maybe a solution is to ban all toy guns and start teaching these children how to shoot for real.

Yeah, this is total common sense applied to the situation in your post. This could have been dealt with simply and he could have been asked not to bring it to school again. The world has gone nuts. All responsibility seems to have been given over to the authorities. It's one step away from thought crimes, as soon as they perfect mind reading devices that will probably be next. Kids arrested and suspended for anything related to that three letter word; GUN!

If it happened in a private school you wouldn't even hear a thing. One world for those who have and another for those who don't.

I don't know of a single young boy growing up in my day that DID NOT play with toy guns. It's probably the second most marketed toy to young males after toy cars.

What kids play with today, I'm not sure totally. But it's probably guns and cars, cause shit ain't changed that much. My little dude is 2, and I'm not putting him in public school for many reasons, this falling into one of them.
The education system is completely broken in the US. I will not send my son to a place where are free will and the human spirit is stripped from him, where he comes out in 12 years as just another cog in the machine.
I think that my generation (I'm 32) was of the last to make it out of the public school system before it totally crumbled. Today, there's not much hope for whats going to be coming out schools soon. Tea cup children and drones. AThe good ones are beign kicked out and made examples of.

I've noticed that I have been paranoid about little things my son says that I think "What if he says that at school."

Like when he's prentending to be a super-hero saving the day and wants me to be the criminal and says stuff like "I'mma beat you up" or "Bang Bang I got you" -- He's 5


Is this the type of society we want to live in? Where we even our child's imaginations are in jeopardy? Where we can't even express ourselves and be heroes and play without worrying about being arrested with REAL GUNS pointed at our kids?


Something needs to be done....

And, oh yeah! Eric Holder sez that banning homeschooling doesn't violate the Constitution.

I see a few reasons behind this...
1) They know they can intimidate children into changing beliefs and behaviors through intimidation. It only takes one kid as an example to "correct" the rest.

3) They know they cannot change adult gun-owner beliefs, so they are starting at the youth... again. How many year of indoctrination did it take for evolution and global warming to become dogma within school curriculum? It really wasn't that many. The generation in elementary school at this time is being brought up in fear of everything and learning only government can protect them from the monsters under the bed, in their closet and in their head (yeah, I borrowed that). Much easier to control them at 18, 20, 30.
