It doesn't do much good to, say 6 months later, tell them... hey, little kim, you know when we were just about to go to war... well we were flying F-22's right over your freakin' house. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37217347 The advanced, radar-evading F-22 Raptors were deployed to Osan Air Base, the main U.S. Air Force base in South Korea, from Japan to support ongoing bilateral exercises, the U.S. military command in South Korea said in a statement that urged North Korea to restrain itself. "(North Korea) will achieve nothing by threats or provocations, which will only further isolate North Korea and undermine international efforts to ensure peace and stability in Northeast Asia," the statement said. [link to www.gmanetwork.com] __________________________ Yeah, those F-22 jets will last for about 10 minutes in a combat engagement before its pilots pass out from lack of oxygen. Let the Koreans fight their own war. The old Korean war is such a legacy of the past, of the Cold War. South Korea is fully capable financially, logistically and industrially capable of mounting its own defense. WHY the heck do we still have 30,000+ U.S. soldiers there and a couple of hundred front-line jet fighters there is simply beyond me. The Cold War is OVER. The Koreas are of no strategic importance to us any more. |
