No, that is not the same Jeff Bauman. The one in your link is from Flushing. The one injured is from Massachusetts.

This is his Father's FB, where you can see his sons pictures (some from years ago). His son is on his friends list too.

If you read the article, he is identified as Jeff Bauman. Corcoran is someone else not pictured.

That article does come across in a confusing way because the headling was about the Corcoran family, but I know the Jeff Bauman in the picture personally and that is him. Yes, there were two Jeff Baumans at the race, and the one pictured there was not the one running. Earlier in the day he posted a picture of himself on his facebook page holding up a sign to cheer on his girlfriend who was running. He was wearing the same clothes he is wearing in the picture you see in that article. Instead of fighting over who is in which picture, I encourage you all to try to show love and support for the people who were injured.

I'm very sorry about your friend. I agree, the energy should be focused on well wishing and prayers rather than trying to prove who it is in the picture.

Unfortunately, unless insane theories like this are straightened out promptly, they can just get much worse, leading to innocent people getting harassed (example Robbie Parker). A wounded lieutenant named Nick Vogt was already getting mildly harassed about being a "crisis actor" on his Facebook page.

Hopefully, now that your friend has been positively identified, people can stop harassing Nick, and start praying for Jeff. My thoughts and prayers are with him, and all those who were affected by the BM tragedy.

FLINT, MI – The severely injured man named Jeffrey Bauman pictured in Charles Krupa's Associated Press photo after the Boston Marathon explosions is not a Flint-area man by the same name.

Jeff Bauman, a native of Flushing, was uninjured, according to his father Mark Bauman, who ran in his 44th consecutive Boston Marathon on Monday. The two were in Boston together for the event.

"Jeff was around the corner from the finish line, he said he heard the explosion, but once I found out what was going on, you immediately become concerned for everyone's safety," Mark Bauman told MLive-Flint Journal on Monday night. "Some runners did leave immediately, but Jeff stayed put to avoid the crowd, I guess, and then came back towards me, so we were together pretty quickly."
