My Mom was bitten by one in Clev. years ago. The bite was on her thigh and it paralysed the other side of her body for some time. Her Dr. studied his sort of thing and got her the anti-venom.

We get hundreds of red backs (the same species as your black widows) in our garage and shed every year,
not to mention the snakes, mostly brown and black snakes.

Shit I have been chased by a brown snake, the second most deadliest snake in the world.

I have been bitten 3 times by a black widow.

The venom is a neurotoxin. The bite on my forearm still hurts, like 7 years later.

My Mom was bitten by a black widow when I was a kid. Her legs got very swollen and she felt very sick for a while. Glad to say she survived! I would avoid them at all costs.
