What were Jesus' priorities for giving thanks in the Lord's prayer?

Ever find it ironic that Catholics say that prayer by route but don't know or use Gods name, which is the first thing Jesus taught in that prayer

Not really, why would the popes let God compete with them for worship?
"However, brothers, respecting the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we request of YOU 2 not to be quickly shaken from YOUR reason nor to be excited either through an inspired expression or through a verbal message or through a letter as though from us, to the effect that the day of Jehovah is here.
3 Let no one seduce YOU in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god. 5 Do YOU not remember that, while I was yet with YOU, I used to tell YOU these things?

The Poops yes, ( did I mean "Pope"?- But what about the common everyday Catholic, are they responsible to read the Bible on their own or listen to the Pope?

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.

---Duplicity is when you seek good for reward. In this case, what are you after? The reward. Duplicity is when you seek good to avoid judgment. Which are you after? This is called being double-minded. Good is its own reward. Prayer should be for others, not for self.

Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

---They were after the reward and not the good of others. In all cases, God's word is pointing to God's will, which is to give and receive. Taking makes us a thief.

6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

---Never let your good deeds be seen. Why? You receive reward from others and not God. God desires to be the one that gives to us in all cases.

7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

---Faith is our trust in God's authority. Come what may, it is always for our good. By pagans using many words, he is referring to the use of mantras. The reason, again, is to derive the benefit for self. Compare this to theurgy and spiritual alchemy. The same applies.


9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

---God's will and not our own. Again, not selfish.

11 Give us today our daily bread.

---Bread represents food, but also knowledge. It is God giving again to us and not what we earn.

12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

---By forgiving debts, we are giving to others as a reflection of God giving to us. God follows His law of Love. Never take.

13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

---The evil one steals, kills and destroys. God is our defense against the one that is a robber and thief. Satan or man, it is the same. God is the defender.

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

---We must take the name. The name of Christ is the character it represents. That character is to suffer for others and give. Surplus is created when we give.

If you smoke, you generally get sickness. Taking as a thief creates debt. If you instead go to the gym and workout, you get health. Suffering first always brings reward later.

It's a direction.

Reward ----> Suffering ------> Reward.

The point is to suffer first, then reward follows. Work a job and your family eats. Take too many sick days and you suffer the loss of a job. Fail to show up after being drunk the night before and all your jobs eventually fade. Taking reward leads to suffering the debt. Instead, suffer and reward rains down from heaven above.

The Power (god almighty/Heaven) and the Glory (mother nature/Earth)
In Thy Holy Name JESUS Christ AMEN
