TSA hassles local police chief. Now his entire department has been sacked!

I can't believe this is the end of the story. Hopefully some type of resistance will follow.

Surely there is more to this story? If this is why he was ordered to disband, then that is a load of crap.

Hmmm...From reading that article you'd think we were talking about two completely different situations. Doesn't even say the department was disbanded or anything.....

It does say harassed by TSA and it does say "admin leave"/desk duty.

I for one am going with local media with the interview than some other random website that maybe looking to sensationalize a story for hits.

Jemez Springs, NM is a tourist destination. With a population of 252, the police department enjoys ten part-time officers and volunteers with many working about 8 hours per month.

These are a pack of wannabes that probably abuse their badge.

I live in a town of about 1500 and we have 1 cop. And he's only on duty during the day.

That probably put an end to most police departments signing any kind of 'Oathkeepers' type documents in the future.

Mission accomplished, problem solved.

One more time for the slow. A town of 252 people doesn't need 10 cops. Even if it is a tourist town. Any big problmes would call the sheriff's department. These people just want the perks of being a cops. Cops get discounts and can buy stuff that ordinary serfs aren't allowed to.

This is bullshit. TSA no different from Brown Shirts in Nazi Germany but American public still too dumb to see it yet.

Most were only working 8 hours per month. Besides, It the town wants to pay for a lot more policing than they really need that's their business. It certainly is no business of the TSA!

It says it's the sheriff. But it's hard to believe because when I first looked at the pic, I thought it was a guy in Nazi uniform.
