The anti-sugar conspiracy
The TPTB are on an anti-sugar campaign - demonizing it, even kick-starting the anti-sugar movement, a campaign that calls for "sugar to be treated as a toxin, like alcohol and tobacco, and for sugar-laden foods to be taxed, labelled with health warnings and banned for anyone under 18."

They're full of shit! Your body couldn't operate without sugar - every cell in your body runs on sugar! Every food that you eat your body converts into sugar! It's how your body gets its energy! A calorie is an energy unit!

cal·o·rie
/
noun
noun: calorie; plural noun: calories; noun: cal.

1.
either of two units of heat energy.
the energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water through 1 °C (now usually defined as 4.1868 joules).
noun: small calorie; plural noun: small calories
the energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water through 1 °C, equal to one thousand small calories and often used to measure the energy value of foods.

Not only that, you can't gain weight from sugar! I've tried! It's impossible! American obesity has skyrocketed while sugar consumption has plumetted!

So why are people getting fat? All the phoney toxic artificial sweeteners, like Aspartame! They screw up your system because they taste sweet yet contain no calories, throwing your body's insulin production out of whack (causing diabetes) and also dramatically increasing appetite! That's why people are getting fat!

However, these bastards speak in complete opposites, blaming sugar for the problems their "healthy" (i.e toxic) alternative (Aspartame) causes:

"Lustig is one of a growing number of scientists who don’t just believe sugar makes you fat and rots teeth. They’re convinced it’s the cause of several chronic and very common illnesses, including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s and diabetes. It’s also addictive, since it interferes with our appetites and creates an irresistible urge to eat.
<-- THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT ASPERTAME CAUSES!!!!!!

Don't believe anything you hear on the MSM - it's controlled by demons who are systematically poisoning humanity - all in the name of health! (by way of deception, though shalt do war!)

Your body makes GLUCOSE from the carbs/ proteins that you eat. Most people eat too many carbs which is a very inefficient energy supply (must be burned off in a short time frame after ingestion, or your body begins the process of storing the excess, in the form of fat.) Excess protein also begins to be stored as fat. As long as you keep the carbs low, eat the proper amount of protein, and utilize healthy fats as your energy source instead of sugar, you'll be fine.
But please don't tell people that sugar is good for you....even in small amounts, it still does damage to your body. Saying that, its very hard to avoid since its put, in different forms, into almost everything we eat. THAT is the REAL fraud!

Good post... I've noticed how tptb are really pushing the anti-sugar message here in the UK.

Not a single day goes by without the MSN pushing the new agenda, they are going to make sugar as antisocial as smoking.

Its been a long time coming. We have never had such an unhealthy population since fats were demonised and sugar became our staple.

(When I say sugar I include starch because that immediately converts to sugar in the digestive tract.)

Ansel Keys and Mr Kellog etc. have a lot of blood on their hands.

Oh and OP, you aint a clue mate. we do not need a scrap of glucose in our diet. This is not news and theres plenty of info out there so do a little self educating next time.

You got it!

You know why they're demonizing smoking? Because nicotine counters the effects of fluoride and grows new networks of neural cells!

That's also why they're demonizing salt (another substance essential to life) - iodine counters the effects of fluoride!

They are sick bastards! Pure evil! Enemies of humanity!

Glucose is a carbohydrate, and is the most important simple sugar in human metabolism.

Glucose is one of the primary molecules which serve as energy sources for plants and animals. It is found in the sap of plants, and is found in the human bloodstream where it is referred to as "blood sugar"...

Sugar is one THE most efficient ways to gain excess body fat.

Just because the Industry Shill OP claims to have "tried" to "gain weight from sugar", does not mean it is "impossible".

Seriously, who -- except in some laboratory experiment -- would try to gain body fat weight? And this the only sort of weight sugar could add. Sure, some people do try to gain weight, in the form of muscle, which would require protein, amino acids and micronutrients (plus excercise).

But no way could sugar add muscle, only body fat.

So the OP expects us to believe he or she actually tried to put on body fat?

American obesity has skyrocketed while sugar consumption has plumetted!

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54183487

While sales of sugar have dropped, sales of high fructose corn syrup have skyrocketed.

Sugar may be marginally better (or rather less harmful), but in no way can the drop in sugar sales be construed to correlate to the increase in obesity, except to the degree that HFCS has replaced sugar.

The human body has not evolved, or was not created, to function with such a sudden influx of glucose.

Until modern industry, just a couple of centuries ago, the only way to eat anything sweet was to go through all the work and hazard of collecting honey or fruit (fruit being seasonal only)

Do not fall for this Industry Shill thread. It is bogus -- bad science -- and transparently so.

Sugar is poison, not literally but close. Best thing I did was getting rid of Sugar and crappy carbohydrates and replace them with protein and good fats.

Protein + fat diet = Dopamine + Noradrenalin (motivation/confidence/aggression/high energy)

Carbs = Serotonin (emotional anesthesia/unmotivated/low energy/etc)

Keep your sugar, I'll keep my fats.

Yes, I really did try to gain weight by eating lots of sugar - when I was in jail & they kept us on a sub-standard (below minimum daily caloric intake) diet and I was losing about 1lb/day. I tried to compensate by buying packets of sugar and eating them en masse...It didn't work. I kept losing weight.

But I won't try to reason with you brainwashed sheeple. Just keep believing a substance essential to life (sugar) is poison, and the toxic shit TPTB are pushing as a "healthy" alternative really is.

Dude, your on the wrong side of problems here, Sugar is bad for you, because since when it became a staple, it was hard to find, thus, the body could have made it useful by producing insuline.

In 150 years or so the body couldn't have possibly adapted to the quantity of sugar we consume today. Sugar is the main cause of getting fat and cholesterol, i've seen it in the blood tests i got. I used to eat like 2 chocolates a day, i had a lot of cholesterol for my age. I stopped and the cholesterol levels dropped.

Wake up, dopey.

Glucose is NOT the same as Sucrose.

Learn some basic freaking science.

The body needs glucose. It primarily manufactures glucose out of carbohydrates.

The body does NOT need sucrose. In fact it handles sucrose very, very badly (healthwise), but very, very efficiently so far as chemistry.

Too efficiently. That sudden *RUSH* of glucose inflames the arteries, plus lends itself to immediate and efficient deposition as body fat.

One of the very few things marginally more destructive to the body is high fructose corn syrup. It destroys the body more quickly, but not more efficiently.

When top manufacturers such as Robinsons, (Fruit Shoots, for kids) started marketing those popper stop bottles for kids, now in 4 packs on special offer), I knew then that asparatame was bad. Natural sugar is far far better, than all of this fructose syrup, asparatme crap, thats in nearly everythin thats 'sugar free' these days. Wheres the choice anymore? It's all sugar free shit nowadays, take it or leave it.

Sucrose, table sugar is 50% fructose and 50% glucose, so yes to say that the body converts "Everything" to sugar is very wrong. It's been a long time sense I watched Dr. Lustig's video that made him popular on the dangers of sugar, but I believe that he said that his issue is only with fructose. Which makes sense because if you eat glucose, only 1% of it will be stored as fat in your liver (triglicerides), wheras with fructose, about 40% of the fructose you eat turns into fat in your liver.

Re: The anti-sugar conspiracy
Like anybody needs to eat the 156 lbs of sugar each one of us in the US eats annually?

Fructose is made to be eaten with fiber. It's very healthy when you eat apples, berries, oranges. It's not healthy when HFCS is added to milk, soda water, fruit juices and then downed by the gallons. Naturally occurring sugars are the only ones we need to eat.

The other thing, the HFCS is from GMO corn and the processed white sugar is, I understand, mostly GMO as well. GMO crops are intolerant of Round-up - not resistant. If they were resistant, they would fight the Round-up. But they are intolerant which means they soak it up and it doesn't kill the plant. GMO crops are full of insecticides, therefore. An insecticide which has been shown to cause reproductive and other hormonal harm, cancers, liver damage, allergies, genetic damage... You really want to eat that crap? It tastes good but it is an insidious poison.
