Re: Detroit water doom: Mass incarcerations for protesters following shutoffs!
That's what happens when you don't pay your bill.. Now, yes, I do believe water is a basic right.. But if you are going to buy it from someone and allow them to put a meter on your house, well, then you had better pay your fucking bill..

This sounds like an article written by Laquitia who wants sympathy for crying like a bitch after not paying her water bill and getting shut off. Notice she had to bring race into it? Notice that just about everything she said is most likely overexaggerated?

They do need to pay their bills. We had our water shut off once because we were 2 weeks overdue. They are lucky to have 60 days. Some who protest are proably free loaders who want their free OBAMA shit.Everyone has to pay bills on time. Why are they making so much noise when all they have to do is pay on time.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24593260

One or a few people not paying water bills isn't likely to be a systemic problem and may just be due to individual issues, however, when large numbers of an urban community aren't able to pay their water bills, assuming this is true, than you have a major systemic problem of which not paying the water bill is simply an effect - in which case, some of the lazy pension sucking city officials need to get off their cans and address the likely causes, i.e, there are no jobs, not enough income in Detroit - you don't turn off the water in mass, which, at the very least puts individuals and the community at risk of disease from lack of hygiene, hydration etc....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1593102

How long have these people been overdue. I think 60 days is more then enough time to come up with payment or get shut off. Maybe there just free loaders taking it to the limit and i'm pretty sure they knew they were late on their bill. How can you just rack up 60 days worth of a water bill and not know. Then say, OMG they shut off my water. Please. No excuse. They knew it was coming and pushed it to the limit and now are cryin wolf. They had 60 days to try to get help to pay their bill, but they didn't.

the numbskulls in charge of Detroit are playing all kinds of games with their water billing system, including not sending out the bills and massivly inflating them. It's pretty clear, Detroit land is worth far more without it's current residents, most likely to the Chinese and all the insiders able to broker the deals, hence the need to depopulate - sort of like the cows in Nevada.

Not that I agree with heavy handed tactics. But you've got to pay your bills if you want service.
 Quoting: fred 58201070

Agree 100% - if you cannot afford to pay for the service, dig a hole - it's called a well. Water is free, provided by the Universe. If some goon tries to prevent you from using the water from your well, tell it to pissoff, if it won't, then kill it - you have the RIGHT to exist.

You cannot CHOOSE to have someone else go to all the trouble of fetching the water and conveying it to your front door in pipes and REFUSE to pay for it - but you have the Universal RIGHT to get your own.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58635894

It is illegal to dig a well for drinking water here. Irrigation only. Drones or water cops fly overhead to sense for new unauthorized wells. So not that easy. In addition water bill is tied to property taxes. So they will seize your home over unpaid wsater bill whether you owe or not.

Many people DO NOT OWE what the records claim. These figures often times are manufactured just to do land grabs. Fact.

Some Detroit Officials are corrupted and the Chienese would benefit to get rid of people in Detroit, if they truly are taking it over. But how does that justify not paying your bill. If these bills aren't being sent out, don't you think the one on the receiving end would call the water co. to see what's going on. Regardless what the numbskulls are doing. They have been inflating all our bills and our food all over the USA. A lot of people have to give up things to pay for their bills and food. And water is not as high as elec., cable, rent ect.

Sorry, I don't believe everything I read. I lived in Detroit too long to know how they roll. A lot of what you read is false just like CNN, Fox and news that pump up stuff to make it look worse then what it is.

This is about a device called " hail storm " aka stingray

The Oakland County Sheriffs just obtained it through a federal grant

It is a cell phone spy device , leave your phone at home or don't talk on it when you drive

When the Detroit News asked about it under FOIA , it was denied

Why? I'll tell you why , they make big bucks snooping and violating our 4th constitutional right

People better wake up , Disney land is going by by

I have an update and allot to say so bare with me , I have good news and bad news , I will start with the bad

This story is in fact true , there wasn't multiple arrests just one , they did in fact arrest this woman and throw her in the 6 mile state prison for using her first amendment right of free speech and protest , a local activist group got a lawyer and got her out relatively quick

Unfortunately , more bad news

I contacted every media outlet in town , radio , T.V. , internet because I wanted to know if this story was really true?

Not one single person contacted with a response " until just now " ?

Guess who called me ? The Godforsaken enemy " the Sierra club"

I couldn't believe it but there we were on the phone , we spoke for about 20 minutes I told her about this thread but also how hard it was to get one piece of truth out to this world

Not one single soul called me back on this matter except for the Sierra club!

Lmao !! I have seen it all now !

Now for the good news and closing statements

I found out where there is some people meeting who are trying to get some things done , I shall go there and meet with them and find out if there are some movers and shakers

No more talk , no more typing , I'm done , it's time for action

My eyes have been opened to so many things and I am truly horrified , I know that if I don't try and at least do something I will never forgive myself

I don't know why I was brought back to this City but I know it was for a reason , maybe it's to tell the story of lies and destruction going on right before our eyes

Something must be done , I have to at least try , evil has a new enemy

As corny as it sounds I want to share an idea for a movie that would actually be a true story
