Fukushima- Strontium reaches 500 Billion Bq/m³ in basements
[link to enenews.com]

Strontium reaches 500 Billion Bq/m³ in basements at Fukushima — Record levels reported at 5 locations near ocean — U.S. Expert: “We see strontium becoming more of concern… food chain will have to be studied more carefully”

[TEPCO] said Thursday that it plans to improve a cesium adsorption system [...] to enable it to remove strontium.

May 30, 2014: Buesseler hopes to monitor strontium levels in the ocean and seafloor near Japan in the future. Should that strontium move across the Pacific Ocean, it will take three years for it to reach the West Coast of the United States.

This is afaik inside of a closed Water Line
and not in contact with the Groundwater or the Sea!

As long as this Pipe do not breach as long we have a bit of Time to
upgrade ALPS for Strontium-90, this will need a few Months!

But Enenews is as funny as usual,
the Original Report said:
JIJI PRESS, May 29, 2014: [TEPCO] said Thursday that it plans to improve a cesium adsorption system [...] to enable it to remove strontium. The move is aimed at reducing risks when radioactive water leaks from storage tanks [...] TEPCO plans to begin test operation of the improved SARRY system at the end of August. Highly radioactive water [is] accumulating in the basements of the No.1 to No. 4 reactor buildings [with] strontium levels standing at 40 million to 500 million becquerels per liter

this shows where the sampling locations are.

1-16 and 1-2 are the high readings

1-2 had a reading of 1,000,000
but
As of December 2013 (* Including groundwater observation hole No.1-2 which was abolished in October 2013.)

1. How long has your "current" ALPS system run consistantly? = fail
2. How many burst/rusted and sea-water damaged images have been released and reported = Heaps

Your 'planned releases' are moot because you don't even know how much is leaking 'unplanned'

Actually Strontium-90 is nothing new,
you absorbed it already since the US-Nuclear Test in massive Amounts!
(Research it and open your Eyes)

In Fukushima this (Strontium-90) is mostly in a sealed Water Pipe/ Drainage/ Channel and not in contact with the Environment.
(see Water Samples)

There are Ways, which are used now, to concentrate this Waste Water,
means 100l get boiled down to a few Liter (in Short)
this can be stored until there is a Way to filter and concentrate it even more!

It's so fun living on a radioactive cestpool knowing in a few more years the people you love, including yourself are likely to start developing the joyful cancers and other health ailments that radiation brings.

Thank-you TEPCO for giving us the gift that keeps on killing.

I just love reading stories about dying sea life and it was so wonderful to explain to my 5 year old why she can never eat Pacific seafood ever again.

Indeed, the Tsar Bomb dusted North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, Minnesota, Iowa... good chucks of wheat land and the peoples living in those states got dusted by it rather heavy. That's like two half lives worth now, so about a third of all that fallout still remains. And then of course all the nuclear powers testing world wide also dusted the planet with that Strontium 90 as well, some places hotter than others.

I really don't see 3 years.

Pacific has its own Gulf Stream

And it brings currents/water from Japan quite quickly to North America!
