I had 2 earthboxes on a deck last year with german giant tomatos and they grew 8' tall out of those little pots. I had used other containers to build privacy walls along the edges of the deck with peppers (cayanne), herbs and broccoli. |

Let a whole rib eye section hang uncut for a month. It will grow a good bacteria (if you do it right) then when you're ready to eat a steak you cut one off and trim all the 'hairs' off the outside. One of the most flavorful and tender steaks you can have. The process breaks down the connectivity tissues so the longer the better. Most high end steak houses will age 2-4 weeks. But you can also use the old fridge from the link to do ham curing and sausages as well. There is a great book called "The Art of Charcuterie" you should check out. |

Doublerich - has as much Vitamin C as an orange (if you can't grow citrus this and strawberries will suffice) Caro Red/ Carorich - has 10x the vitamin A as the average tomato. Indigo Rose - a small dark blue almost purple tomato that is loaded with antioxidants. Tangerine - loaded with betacaratines and lycopene. I figured I might as well grow the most nutrient/vitamin packed stuff I can just in case. |

I have small gardens as I lack the time now to tend to larger ones these days (oh thank you fucking economy for this - this is another long story). I have had laying hens for years and collect their eggs. If I could I would live off of what is out of my garden and eat the eggs (I do not kill animals as I refuse to it sickens me). My brother also fishes from time to time so he gives us his extra catches. As to meat, I could give it up all together no problems. Meat can go through the roof in price I don't give a shit I will buy much less of it and replace it with other alternatives. It is not just the meat that keeps going up it is everything.....
