Funny thing about American society. They are incredibly numb to shock propaganda. In general they just refuse to take a side and say both sides are stupid. Makes it hard for either side to gain a foothold past the 3% at the extreme ends of the spectrum.

I kinda feel like this will dissipate too. Which only drives them to go for an ever bigger shock the next time. It seems to be the new trend is to make many small incidences instead of one large one.

What do they do when society becomes completely apathetic to those as well?

On some level the general populace knows they are being screwed with and the self defense mechanism is to run to the middle and not overact one way or the other.
