I have noticed that after re-installing windows 7, I ran netstat -a which shows you all the connections the O/S is connected to. I noticed a speed increase as soon as I re-installed windows 7.

Windows 10 always had these strange connections all the time, which was using my bandwidth upstream.

Do you think they would put a backdoor on your system that could be easily removed?

Then not even reformatting or even replacing your HDD would get rid of it because it's on the motherboard.

If you're reverting to an older OS, I'd re-set and re-do your BIOS settings.

That's a feature called "Bittorrent" for the most part. Microsoft is decentralizing their update scheme which is already proving to be a near complete disaster as far as I'm concerned. Unless if you're rich enough to afford a high end fiber optic Net connection, your upload side will ALWAYS be filled to the brim with network activity. You'll never know where your data is going. You'll never know if Windows is uploading something you're wanting, or anything.

It'll always read having high bandwidth usage on the upload side. Seeing as data caps are becoming, if not already are the norm, for much of the country, you'll eat away your data cap in a fricken hurry with Windows 10 uploading and downloading new updates. Without the Microsoft updates being centralized like with all of the Windows versions up to 8.1 this'll be extremely open to fraud and other malware excessively easily. I'm sure this'll be a great challenge for the pirates out there too.

Stay clear of Win10.

Windows 10 will NEVER touch my SSD. Hell, I've been ecstatic that the various networking and PC magazines have been talking about these facts about Windows 10. Microsoft's spy and malware platform Windows 10 is no longer hidden, nor a conspiracy "theory". It's conspiracy fact. Maybe this'll scare quite alot of Windows users into sticking with 7 and 8.1? I know I'm sticking with 7.

Even the commercials say that it will use facial recognition instead of passwords,they will have your pic daily to update their tracking files.

I have had Windows 10 for about a week now. I have turned off all the privacy settings.

I am having no problems and I use my computer heavily. It does appear faster though.

Here is some of the info from other threads I saved.

To get the update, kb3045999 and kb2919355 had to have installed.

This update replaces kb3022345.

And the telemetry update is kb3068708.

uninstall these updates if you have them
rescan for updates, hide them when they reappear.

KB2919355 is irrelevant to the nature of this topic. It is safe to leave on the machine, also it is win8/2012 only.

Win7 is going to be around for a long time it seems.

Yeah, when I was on 10 i'd get a BSD about every day. Computer would just randomly reset. Since i've gone back to 7 it's just as stable as can be. No problems. Event viewer is clean. All kinds of errors in windows 10 event viewer. If you're planning on installing 10 you ought to at least wait till SP1, and then make sure you disable all the spyware settings you can.

The software is built in.
As easily as it can be turned off....it can be turned right back on/enabled again by anything from a malware program, a virus, Microsoft/NSA backdoors or numerous other methods.

The software shouldn't exist in the first place in Win10.
That is the only SURE way it is not stealing all your personal info.

I have W 8.1 guarded over by Malwarebytes, Webroot, and a little something a friend of mine now retired from the dark side of the CIA put together for me. So far, I've had 14 programs reject "rideware" (update spyware that does pretty much what 10 is supposed to do.) The crazy part is that they register as "pub" (probably harmless).

In case you were wondering, the "dark" program keeps an eye on webroot, to keep it straight and awake. Been using it since XP.
