Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69923559 They might even leverage this in the event of a terror attack (whether false-flag or otherwise) by saying "The poor NSA was restricted to getting the data it needed to stop the dastardly attackers!" The spying will continue in spite of this. It will just be used as a way of 'showing' the populace how "important the NSA surveillance programs are to our national security" when an attack happens. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 70925352 United States 11/29/2015 12:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As if that's going to stop NSA. Quoting: Dr. Moran Organizations like NSA, CIA, MI6 and the rest have always believed that they're above any laws or congressional/parliamentary oversight. Heck, even our puny and "borderline amateur" (as described in the evaluation ordered from a company founded by former MI6 officers) security service has been conducting illegal phone and e-mail surveillance. When they get caught, they just say it was a mistake and get away with it. Every time there's a terrorist attack (like after the Paris attacks) they scream for legal rights to do it overtly. The CIA and other agencies wont quit. And they dont need Warrants. Its all part of "you do my dirty work, Ill do yours." The CIA get Britain to do its surveillance and even gives them the tools to do it with. Plausible deniablitiy. "Oh! We dont do Domestic Spying We get someone to do it under the table" and in turn we do the spying for Britain, Australia, and the rest of a group of about 7 countries, all in agreement to spy for each other. Somethings never change. |

Enjoy your smartphone that you carry everywhere without exception and try not to worry about it too much. It is what it is. Don't be superstitious. It's unlucky. |

They've spend billions upon billions upon BILLIONS on technology, hardware and storage facilitys. Do you honestly think that they're going to pull it all down because it's 'unlawful'? Ha ha ha! Yeah right! |

They didn't build a multi-billion dollar facility in Utah to play Pong... You're right on there, Beeches. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, they are still allowed to spy on computer users, if I am correct? I hardly ever use the phone, but I burn up the internet at lot, use it for work. I really resent their spying eyes on everything that I do online. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |

Billions spent on infrastructure to collect data on everyone and they're just going to flip the switch and call it a day? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70901413 Exactly...it is meaningless...you don't build the largest data facility to not use it. |

It has been demonstrated already that we have a corrupt regime in office right now. What do corrupt regimes do? They turn on the people, and they use every apparatus at their disposal. We are important to them because we provide the money for them to play their fucking games. |
