Re: Is Trump a Draft Dodger?
He deferred. That is and was totally legal and above board.

Vietnam was not our battle to fight. The whole thing was a messed up situation and I don't feel that Trump did anything wrong by deferring.

Lots of people did for the same reasons. He was on the move in the business world and didn't want to go be a soldier.

I think selective service is stupid really.

For as much money that we waste on the military, I find it hard to imagine where selective service will ever again happen.

Re: Is Trump a Draft Dodger?
If we had a draft today to defend Israel or destroy Iran or North Korea I would sure as shit do anything I could to not go. Those are not worth any Americans lifes.

If you are a vet, that signed up to be in the military, that is great and I thank you. But some of us do not want to do that, we want to do other things. As some pointed out above, and as many countries learned WW1, you can't just send everyone to war, you NEED normal people back in the country too.

But I've strayed off topic. If you wanted to fight in Vietnam, that's fine, but it should not have been a draft because it was not an official war. If the government wants to send the kids to the slaughter house, they could at least have the decency to declare war.

I don't mind draft dodgers for political candidates as long as they do not advocate for a new war every six months.

Those types - we call them Chicken hawks. And I detest them.

I have a LONG list of Chicken hawks

The ones I detest.

Trump never even came to mind. Not on the list.

Go do something else

This is my take. I am a U.S.M.C. Vet - enlisted on my 17th Birthday. And, I was, in fact, involved in MK Ultra.

But, I also, despise the Chicken Hawk Bullshit - Like Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, etc.

I was a Ron Paul guy, and Trump is somewhat similar to that, as far a Foreign Policy - NEVER be in a hurry to send in the Troops.

I mean, damn, shouldn't we ask questions when the same people get rich off every fucking war?!?!

THIS issue is one of the MAIN reasons the NeoCons won't accept Trump, but the American People do. They want Serial wars....especially in the Middle East (to defend Israel, of course). By the way, who the heck is attacking Israel? Let's worry about the U.S.A. for a change.

Ike warned us about the Military Industrial Complex. You think he didn't know what he was talking about? J.F.K. was shot at High Noon in front of the Whole World (Mass Trauma Based Mind Control) because he only wanted to send in Special Ops Teams to Viet Nam, instead of a Full Scale War. Rockefellers/Rothchilds disagreed. Too much money to be made.

I an a Trump Supporter 100%. I do respect him, even though he didn't serve in the Military. He has dome amazing things in life. A lot more than this tired ass ol' Lance Corporal/Farmer. I think he would be good at running the Country.
I'd complain more, but I'm too busy being blessed.

Re: Is Trump a Draft Dodger?
So from 1964 to 1968 his record is saying 2-S which means collage deferment.
In 66 he also was classified as 1-A which means available for unrestricted military service but, he wasn't called up. He had the deferment anyway because he was in College. In 68 he had A-1 but didn't get called and 1-Y which means available only in emergencies such as a war (the US was never officially at war with Vietnam). I guess it changed to 1-Y because he was now older and out in the work force.

In 72 he had 4-F, Not acceptable for military service for a medical reason.

As Far as I see it he went to College from 64 to 68 to get an education. So what, a lot of men did. Getting an education made you exempt.
In 68 he didn't get called and his status changed to 1-Y because he was working and older. By 1972 the war in Vietnam was winding down and the US was starting to get out. Had he been classed 1-A and called it's unlikely he would have gone to Vietnam anyway.
 Quoting: Nuke68
He didn't go because he had bunions or something. Qualifies as DRAFT DODGER. You cretins who don't see that, are well--MORONS!!!

He’s leading the Republican pack and loves to talk tough about ISIS, but it’s worth remembering that Donald Trump dodged the draft on five separate occasions and avoided military service at every opportunity.

I spent most of 1967,1968,1969 and 1970 in the Navy, and my hat is off to anyone that managed to escape from that worthless war. I am 110% for Donald Trump. The thought of a psychopathic bitch like Hillary being president and Commander in Chief scares the shit out of me. Her record of "judgement" shows that she has very poor judgment as demonstrated by voting for the gulf war, and her handling of BenGazi. Hillary, like her fellow Chicagoan Obama, hate the US and her lifelong Marxist goal is to tear it down.

You father was right. If we ever had another draft for the military, I will be volunteering to counsel people on how to avoid the draft.

Maybe gunfire of some type damaged your brain. If you had had a brain to start with, you would have joined some other branch before being drafted into the army.
$254 a month? I never made that fucking much until maybe my last year. My first paycheck was 30 something.

You are joking about this being a "free" country, aren't you?

It was a worthless war that killed about 57,000 men my age. A complete and total injustice. The "domino" theory was complete bullshit. It was all about the money they made.

Anyone rich dodged it with legal means and trickery. Those without money but with balls dodged it by fleeing or hiding. That leaves those who did not dodge and died for nothing. Congrats...what a service done for our masters. Our world is much better today since they agreed to fight some nonsense enemy vs fighting the real enemy - their own government.

If Trump becomes President and enters us into a war

YUP!

GOT MULTIPLE 2S DEFERMENTS FOR COLLEGE AND GRAD SCHOOL LIKE MANY OTHERS BUT THEN GOT A PHONY MEDICAL EXCUSE FOR BONE SPURS.

WHEN ASKED, HE COULDN'T REMEMBER WHICH FOOT WAS HURT. FURTHER, HIS MEDICAL DEFERMENT DIDN'T PREVENT HIM FROM PLAYING SPORTS AT PENN AND THE DEFERMENT EXPIRED 1.5 YEARS BEFORE THE DRAFT LOTTERY ON DEC.1, 1969. HE RECEIVED A HIGH DRAFT NUMBER BUT THAT DIDN'T EXPUNGE HIS PHONY MEDICAL DEFERMENT.

IN SHORT HE'S A DRAFT DODGER WHO TRASHED MCCAIN FOR GETTING SHOT DOWN ON A MISSION OVER VIETNAM AND WAS TORTURED ASA POW FOR 5 YEARS. DRAFT DODGER.

HE GOT $1MIL FROM PAPA A WEALTHY NY REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER TO PARTY WITH AND START HIS OWN COMPANY WHILE OTHERS SERVED IN THE MILITARY AND 275 OF HIS CONTEMPORARIES DIED WEEKLY IN VIETNAM.

DRAFT DODGER!!!

HE DIDN'T EVEN JOIN THE GUARD OR RESERVES TO AVOID THE DRAFT. NOW, HE'S A "SUPER PATRIOT."

DRAFT DODGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Draft Dodger is what they used to call someone
who was drafted but refused to serve either
by hiding or running to Canada.
Trump did neither so officially, he was not
a Draft Dodger. He was given deferments
which were legal.
My brother also had college deferment. After
he graduated and his number came up, they
did not take him because of poor eyesight.
He was certainly not a rich "draft dodger".

Trump did not hide or leave the country due to
being drafted so the answer is NO!

I'm a vet and support Trump. Do you have first hand knowledge of what was going on about the draft during the Vet Nam war? Trump applied for a student deferment and IMO it's not the same as a cowardly draft dodger. Trump knew his priorities and that was to complete his education and build a real-estate empire. You shouldn't be at quandary, it's a liberal hit piece. This draft dodging accusations comes right out the liberals playbook.
