Anonymous Coward User ID: 72313797 Canada 11/04/2017 06:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | what's the point of your thread - other than you appear to be a SJW who likes the idea of wealth redistribution? Does an NFL player 'need' $7Million per year to play a game? Nope. But the great thing about a capatalist system is that if someone is willing to pay for your skills, you can make more than the people standing in bread lines in a communist nation. |

If I payed attention in school, and I have the will, drive, and determination to make a million dollars a year...who are YOU to say that is too much? Piss off! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75765188 Canada 11/04/2017 07:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Depends. When you're rich there's usually a lot going on to that person's life. The majority will require constant security for themselves and their family and that alone could cost hundreds of thousands in salaries alone. You would also have managers and secretaries handling a lot of your clerical duties because you'll likely be traveling as your time is now invaluable. This could also cost hundreds of thousands in salaries. Your likely invest in properties so all of these would be managed by another party both for the rental and maintenance of all your properties. Some rich people don't even rent their owned properties.. The list goes on. Nannies, caregivers, etc. Its expensive being rich. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75798292 United States 11/04/2017 07:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's up to the individual. What are your tastes. Do you help people alot. Do you like to travel and experience off the wall things in all corners of the world. Do you have expensive hobbies. I million these days is not a lot of money. I know that sounds silly, but when you don't have a $100,000 you think that's alot...when you get $100,000 you realise it's nothing. It doesn't even impact your spending habit like you think it might. A million is the same way. A million a year after taxes...pff! |

So if they want a raise, they have to raise the janitor's salary first. People deserve to get paid properly for their work. There's no reason almost all profits should go to the CEO, board, and shareholders. Working people deserve to prosper from the fruits of their labor too, and we should have a legal system that reflects that. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75798292 United States 11/04/2017 07:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 3916...to a certain point I agree. However, where were the employees when the owner was starting their company and taking out loans on an idea that may not work. Putting in all the hours and doing everything to make it work. Then come the employees....suddenly they want more of the pie because they are doing the work...well, not really true. Those at the top are working as well, but there efforts yield different results such as contracts and steady streams of work which translates into a healthy returns, like job security so workers can feed their families and secure their financial future. If every employee was being paid $50-$100 an hour it would get to a point people would just start taking days off and start showing up when they wanted to or needed to because suddenly their bank accounts are so flush. But in reality it wouldn't happen like that. The government would just keep raising the cost of living due to the sudden influx of wealth to tap into. So eventually buying any product would be so overly priced no one could afford it. The changes need to start with the government and it's financial strangle hold of the citizens. Then and only then will any impact be successful. |

Plenty of people work under the global 'poverty' line and believe that your salary is too much to live on/be happy, and they would be happy if you reduced it and gave it to them. How would you feel when they look to you and claim that you don't need 'XXX' to survive on? Will you then accept their viewpoint and reduce your salary, and live in squalor because others do? Or maybe use your salary to help others and give to charity, thus helping others without harming yourself or your family income? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75798292 I know what you're saying, but it sort of comes across as pay them just enough to make sure they show up, but not enough to get ahead. Then if they're paid enough to get ahead the government, businesses, landlords, etc. take it. That's capitalism game, though. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73817748 I think you parasites would be happy for the first few pay periods until the ones actually creating the wealth to go in your pot become pissed and just quit.
