(pg. 71)-UK Government on verge of collapse wait... this was the amendment vote to reject no deal in ANY circumstances, at 29th March or anytime, even if there's an article 50 extension. Good God. The House of Commons have voted to reject no deal in all circumstances by 312 to 308 - just four votes in the difference [link to twitter.com (secure)] It was the one the Caroline Spelman tried to withdraw, but Yvette Cooper screwed her over this Spelman amendment that just won by four votes, was it a binding vote or advisory one, do you know? Its not binding, just a test for Parliament to see if MP's would back no deal, and they didnt. The Amazing Panda |

[link to www.bbc.co.uk (secure)] MPs have voted by 312 to 308 to reject leaving the EU without a withdrawal agreement. It is not a legally-binding decision - and it does not rule out the UK leaving the EU. But it means MPs could now get a vote on delaying Brexit. That vote would take place on Thursday, and if it is passed - and the EU agrees to it - the UK will not leave the EU as planned on 29 March. The Amazing Panda |

That vote would take place on Thursday, and if it is passed - and the EU agrees to it - the UK will not leave the EU as planned on 29 March. MPs are now voting on whether the PM's Brexit plan should be scrapped in favour of a "managed no deal". The government has tabled its own motion on rejecting a no-deal Brexit on 29 March - but MPs have now voted to reject no-deal under any circumstances. [link to www.bbc.co.uk (secure)] Right so article 50 extension will be approved tomorrow and the government loses the threat of 'no deal' leverage when further discussions with the EU take place. So infact EU will likely offer an even worse deal than is being offered to May right now. This will all boil down to May's rejected Brexit from last night being put to the House again in the last week of March... Blackmail... either MPs vote for her deal or she keeps going back to the EU to hand the EU more concessions on each visit. Last Edited by CoronaCoaster on 03/13/2019 03:34 PM |

I guess that's what they could be voting on tomorrow? Last Edited by CoronaCoaster on 03/13/2019 03:44 PM |

(pg. 71)-UK Government on verge of collapse [link to www.bbc.co.uk (secure)] MPs are now voting on the government's amended no-deal Brexit motion. The original motion said the that the UK would not leave the EU without a deal on the 29 March, meaning the UK could leave the EU in a no-deal scenario at a later date. However, after the government defeat on the Spelman amendment, which called for no-deal to be removed as the default option if a deal does not achieve a consensus among MPs, the motion now states that MPs would not leave the EU without a deal. Of course, this is simply an expression of the will of MPs, and not a binding decision. The Amazing Panda |
