I’m stunned to find out how many people care more about pets and animals than humans

Humans are evil, dogs are god, when a pet dies it's much more traumatic than when humans die. If you bring a dog into a large arena full of priests, and pastors and other religious cooks, then bring in the room one dog, the dog will the most holy person in the room, why? because a dog doesn't have a carnal mind.

Have you ever seen how some dogs act around other dogs?

What about the pit bulls who have killed kids and the elderly?

Oh they just get a free pass because they’re dogs? It’s how they were raised right?

Neighbors dog(pitbull staffordshire) came into my back yard today and nearly killed my weenie dog.

We don't care more about pets than people. That's how you are choosing to phrase it and it's leading you down a perplexing road.

Let me ask you... if both were drowning which would you save? A faithful, loyal obedient dog? Or your lying, cheating , unfaithful spouse?

I think what you are having trouble with is that some people value love and familial loyalty more than they value species designation. Traitors, turncoats, liars, thieves, and the like can take their chances elsewhere, human or not IMHO.

If your kid has been a decent, good little kid living next door to us for 5 years maybe I push him/her out of the way of the oncoming car instead of my dog. If he/she has been a little shit the whole time instead... maybe "I couldn't get to her in time" and my dog lives instead. What kind of kid are you raising? One that people would consider more worthy than a dog? Or one nobody would miss except your immediate family? The world is overflowing already with humans that aren't worth a good dog. That's a huge reason why the world is in the shape it is.

More importantly, you didn't keep your kid out of the street. Your kid isn't my responsibility... my dog is. It's my call if I want to be nice and sacrifice tending my responsibility to tend to yours. Hopefully you and your kid have given me reason to. If not... that's more your problem than mine. Most people these days are ignorant, self-centered, entitled assholes. Don't be one, maybe you won't be treated as "expendable".

Animals can not help themselves like humans can

Before I say this I admit there are exceptions.

BUT
I would rather help a hungry cold animal than an able bodied human.

I have several feral cats I feed daily.
The pack ranges from 6 to a dozen depending on the day.
I go through 199 pounds of dry food, 30 cans of wet food and 30 packs of $1 a pack hot dogs per month.
Every morning they get a couple bowls of dry food and a can of wet mixed in. before bed they get more dry with hot dogs chopped up in it.

I recently made 5 winter shelters out of 27 gallon plastic containers and cheap harbor freight moving blankets, Straw, cedar chips and a small warming pads.
I also made a food cafeteria for them out of a 72 gallon container. It has heated water bowls, heated food dish's, lights and I am waiting on a wifi streaming camera to install in it so I can check on them or stream the video live.

I made the food shelter to keep them out of the rain and snow.

There has been times I skimped on my meal so that I could feed the cats. But I skipping a few meals would do me mre good than harm

these cats share their food with raccoons, possums and skunks. The cats are not scarred of the other animals and it is normal to look out at night and see a cat eating beside one of the other animals.

If I know a person is really on hard times and trying to help themselves I have no issue giving them a few bucks, but if they make bumming money their only source of income, they will not get a penny from me.

I am disabled and can not work like I did before I broke my back but I still do what I can.

Your opinion on who has a soul and who doesn't is simply that. It does not make it so.

I do not even believe in God! I abhor the twisted manipulation of religions. I speak my opinion from the crystal clear knowledge of being dead twice and being forced to wake up in this hollow world.

A soul is your ticket to ride. All living things have souls. But, if you are steadfast in your personal opinion...enjoy the dream. You will some day awaken into the truth, look around and say something like...ah this is great! I'm never going back there again. You, the Light you, will go into the Light and be surrounded with it and find the eternal companionship you have missed more than you knew. Then nothing else matters.

Then another soul you love shares with you that he was the dog you left for years, tied up in the back yard, often hungry. He chose to live as a dog to share your time in your chosen trip thru life again...and you were cruel.

You're gonna feel bad and get a turn later to feel how he felt. Do your self a favor and treat all animals with kindness.

There is no heaven, there is no hell. There us no punishment for our evil deeds. There is eternity. How you live each life determines your luck or happiness in future lives. Be kind and your karma will find kindness.

During your time in the Light we interact with millions of souls and relive adventures and decisions. But we are creatures of adventure and finally decide to go back into some living existence for another chance to experience life. This is how we spend eternity. The entire universe is our stage. Planets come and go, religions come and go, it is never the same thing twice. We all just wing it or follow the rules set by whatever nest you fell in.

You can think I'm nuts, it really doesn't matter. I'm a very happy camper.

But I now have a broader understanding that NOT all “living things” have souls. Many have sentience, an awareness of Self, but that is a very different thing from having a soul.

The truest answer is that most animals we interact with have zero free will. From pets to food supply they are under our influence. They mostly can't make decisions for the informed future. People can. And most choose poorly. If there's a person and a dog in the path of a speeding car and you have to hit one, I'd wager at least 50% of people will hit the human.

It is purely a head in the sand tactic used by weak individuals to bury emotional problems. They rescue dogs thinking they are doing a good deed and helps them feel better about doing absolutely nothing for society

All my cat wants from me is food, milk, a warm place to sleep and lots of petting and love.

Most people I know would take me for everything I've got given half a chance.

Animals love you unconditionally. They don't fake that but people do.

Interesting, in that I find it strange that you would take the presented facts, and position them as "attacks."

I believe another poster has already pointed out that there's a hint of manipulation or shading going on here. I like my dog better than I like most people, ergo I'm crazy and I don't value human life.

Well, that's just foolish, and farthest thing from the truth that could be. Now, let me be extremely clear, I DO like my dog more than most people, hard fact. Why? Well, for starters, I don't KNOW most people. I know SOME people, both good and bad. OF those people, I care for some few more than others. I wouldn't hurt them or see them hurt, I would defend them, even the ones I DON'T like, and protect them as well as I was able.

And guess what? So would my dog, without hesitating for a second, without being hampered by laws, morality questions, opinions, or ego. HE loves people, infinitely and with such trust. And THAT is what in some ways makes him better than most humans, including me - even if you hurt and abuse him, he will STILL put you ahead of himself if the need arises.

And then there's the family thing. Yes, an animal, but my family nonetheless, and I value my family above your family - that's again a NORMAL human trait, and a healthy one, as well - it ensures survival and genetic diversity. And our pets are a part of that family, so that extends to them as well. It's not AGAINST others, it's about one's self, one's family and one's priority.

It's also normal human psychology. There are people that love money, or fancy cars, or other inanimate objects. THOSE are the creepy ones, the 'paths - psychopath, sociopath, etc.

If you don't have empathy for others, that's fine (yes, I include humans AND animals in that statement - I don't care what anyone says, if you can't have real empathy for animals, then you can't for humans either.) I'm not a PETA treehugging freak that wants all of the earth's beings to survive indefinitely and for humans to die out - it's simply about my pets. They are family, they are assets and they are my friends, as much as any human. If you find that odd, then I'm very sorry for you, that you've never known the loyalty and friendship that a pet can bring.

SO back around to your point. It's not ABOUT other people, as you should understand, but about people and their family members. Yeah, the world is full of jerks - it's also full of awesome people, and given the circumstances, people that are sometimes both. But you know what? I don't know those people, so I don't love them. I wish them only the best, but they are not my loyal companion, my family, or my community.

A dozen? I've gone into houses with 2-3 cats in them and the place smells like cat piss.

We are the higher intelligence as as such should be able to figure out how to tend to ourselves and our needs. We are tasked with helping others and those in need and I'm pretty sure that does not EXCLUDE animals. If you see an animal(human or otherwise) in need, you help. However, today, it seems popular to stand on a corner with a sign when you appear to have all your limbs in working order. I myself have seen people who just refuse to get the help they need to turn themselves around because they LIKE doing what they are doing and seem to expect people to GIVE them help when needed. I don't have sympathy for that.
Now pets and many animals have become domesticated over the many years and RELY on humans for their well being and survival. The dog is a perfect example. Years of breeding for specific traits have made these animals very vulnerable to their environment. Short haired single coat dogs are not suited to northern climates as long haired double coated dogs will not fair well in southern climates. A dog bred to protect as opposed to hunt will not fair well feeding itself as certain traits have been bred out of the animal. We humans created this, not the dog. Therefore we should be caring for them. Farm animals kept in fencing, or pens are very dependent on us also. Born in captivity, they know nothing else. Wild animals, who have the hardest job surviving, are also victims of our encroachment, getting caught in our trash or losing hunting territory to our developments.
Bottom line, animals get just as hungry and cold as humans. Humans always have a shelter they can go to(at least in this country)...if they want to. Animals, not so much. If I can, I will help an animal in need, even if its only one good deed I can do for it.

i've noticed more people talking through there animals lately it weird and especially how people likecrelay what the dog is thinking and they always do it in a high pitched baby voice.
Trump is sure no animal lover , first family i can remember with no first dog.

And people that claim or get doctors notes for " service animals " is out of control, some people just use it as an in ur face hahaha thing so they can bringbthere pet in a 5 star restaurant or wallyworld and nobody can tell them no cause they have a doctors note.
