Health concerns urge Wi-Fi removal | |
Leo**** User ID: 89830 Sweden 06/04/2007 07:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Go get in a car accident... that is the most darn dangerous thing you can do... DRIVE... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 246820So true. That's why the BT handsfree headset was invented and why I use it when driving, greatly reduces the risk of causing accidents while driving. Or so it is believed. It is also believed that the slight BT microwave radiation could be harmful since it has been shown to open up the blood-brain barrier - in mice as I said. Some believe mice could be a good model for humans in this case. What do we *actually* know about any of this? All we know is that *if* there actually are any harmful effects from the wide-ranging proliferation of WiFi technologies, it is likely to be seen only in a very long time perspective. And since literally everyone are exposed in one way or another, there are no valid control groups to be found if you want to perform scientific experiments to show the believed effects. This matter is increasingly inseparable from religious belief, the way I see it. My only conlusion is to follow what I feel is the right way to relate to it, minimizing *unnecessary* exposure while watching out for the paranoia and also being vigilant to any new facts that may be revealed. /L |

Leo**** User ID: 89830 Sweden 06/04/2007 08:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Try this.. cut the power off to your house... and set and talk to a friend.. Quoting: silly sally 246237You'll notice many things... you'll be able to remember names of people and places.. you will not go blank when you try to think of something. Intriguing idea... you tried this? Here is another idea. Take your friend with you into the wilderness, far outside the reach of the microwave towers. Notice the change in your state of mind when having a chat by the bonfire. I've tried this many times and it works every time to get in tune with things. Then again, I realize that I lack the capability to live outside of "the matrix" for very long. Maybe it is just a conditioned belief. /L |

BuRn User ID: 246877 Belgium 06/04/2007 09:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All those screaming about a raise in risk on "brain cancer" or other diseases : As you guys probably frequently visit GLP : - How many chips do you eat a week? - How many coke do you drink a week - How many fast food do you eat a week? - How many "Energy Drinks" do you drink a week? - How many times do you get your skin "sun tanned" a week ? etc... etc... etc... etc... You know why I am asking that? All of the above are thousands of times more risky than the bit of radiation coming from a wifi set or a cell phone. Oh, and another thing : how many of you are working on a laptop. Any idea about the frequency of your processor? Maybe THAT ONE is harmfull too. No? Just do the check and see what comes out of your computer case. Up until now there is NO scientific evidence which is widely accepted that it IS or IS NOT harmfull or harmless (neither for wifi, neither for cell phone). So the ONLY correct attitude is the one I read in just a COUPLE of posts here : just be moderate in using those things. Just use one or two, don't cover your whole house with it. And don't put those wifi sets next to your head or your ears. Same thing for cell phones : don't call for hours a day. So it won't harm you in ANY way (just read the details of the investigations which say it is all harmfull: those details will tell you that those people who got supposedly a disease of it, were exposed in a far, far, far higher and frequent rate than normal people. But hey, I can tell you : if you drink a litre of coca and a litre of cofee a day, you will die from stomach cancer too. Very probable. Does this mean that you need to forbid coca and cofee? No? Ok, then we do understand each other. Anyway, posts like this allow "silent ones" like me to see who on this forum is having brains and is using them and who are the woowoos... thanks for the original poster for clearing this out. Again... LoL GreetZ, BuRn |

I turned them off and got a 900MHz phone. The older technology doesn't keep sending a signal when not in use. You can get a 900 MHz phone for about $15. Those high frequency phones all send out a signal even when the phone is off the hook. It's like having a mini cell phone tower inside your house. |

I'm right next to a wi-fi antenna in my office. Since they put it up, my ability to concentrate and remember details has gone down. I have to write down things or I'll forget what I did a week ago. |

Master Luke User ID: 204138 United States 06/04/2007 11:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree with the WiFi concern, i have worked with wifi systems for some time, and have a good understanding of what it does, and know what it does, concentrating power into RF and emmiting it to occupied space (Expecially in the microwave band) is dangerous, i think it will be a major issue in the near future that will have to be addressed, as we see more and more coming down with cancer, the same and mutch worse for cell phones, i first became aware of these issues after i noticed i was getting an ear ach on the side i would have my cell phone on my head, every time i used the cell phone, both are microwave, both are dangerous. for those of you that think this is all BS, AT LEAST... go and get some education on the topic before you come on here calling it as sutch. I Call BS on the people that are always calling BS! anyone can call BS on things they dont understand. |

Master Luke User ID: 204138 United States 06/04/2007 11:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.lessemf.com] it can get tricky trying to shiekd yourself from wifi or cellular devices. the best thing to do is just disconnect the power from the wifi device, most people wont miss it, or distance yourself from it. also i have heard of devices that lessen the harmfull effects from microwave radiation, Micro ovens, cell towers, cell phones ect. called blocking diodes i believe. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 111084 United Kingdom 06/05/2007 05:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that. Quoting: BeijingComm NCCCPCYes. I have them and I don't know why anyone wastes time with the old technology. The devolo gives 200mb and is just plug and play. Rock solid too. Works really well. Regardless of whether wireless is a danger, networking via the powerlines is so superior you will never look back. We are extremely happy with our Devolo AC-based network. The wireless was slow and flaky thanks to a well built house with thick walls. So we only had usable wifi in a few rooms anyway. But with the devolo ... different story. Just plugged then in, had the entire place networked at very high speed (not 200mb but close) and the difference was amazing! No delays at all when sharinng iTunes or playing movies on different machines. Honestly, folk, network over the power lines. The cabling's all in place, the speeds are fantastic, the network is rock solid and reliable... you won't regret it. |

Maybe have to look on ebay. It's sick that they keep coming out with higher and higher frequencies. They really mess with your metabolism. I tried a 5GHz cordless and a 2GHz cordless phone.
