I had the gut feeling he was making a statement to us that he tried to let the dems. Play ball. He tried to show them the wall is needed to protect the people. He cited several examples of what these illegals are capable of then left the actual act of declaring an emergency...temporarily.

I think he is hoping this veiled threat will bring them to their senses and responsibility to the little people who are forced to deal with illegals on a daily basis.

He will give them a short time then announce "He tried to get them to cooperate...but now it must be done the hard way."
