Once an individual or group would be able to achieve this it would essentially ensure them immortality. The ability to prevent anyone from being born, steal technology, etc.

What implication would there be for the reality of those existing in the current timeline? Would this not create multiple realities based on how someone would be effected by the chain of events impacted?

I remember reading Bradbury and the story of the character stepping off the path and I think it crushed a butterfly or insect and in turn, altered the future in which the person returned. This blew my mind as a kid.

Who knows what is possible, or what we don't know. I've read some on Montauk and Philadelphia experiment. I wonder what role spiritual entities could play if they were allowed to interfere with the affairs of men. Supposedly, this is what happened with the watchers, Nephilim in Noah's day.
