Quoting: GSB/LTD Butm to expect the rest of the world to accept them because a handful of elites decided that was he way it should be is pretty arrogant. To do so also inplies that our founding fathers somehow had a direct pipeline to God. This is where you must examine their motives for writing that text in the first place and it had nothing to do with equality. If anything, they were guilty of forcing their own religious views upon others just as the crown did to the oerginal pilgrims in England. So, this again begs the question of why we should automatically assume their premise was correct and not just self-serving? You are trying to use emotion rather than logic. The only thing their Declaration gives as a motive is the obligation for an explanation to everyone of exactly why the colonies are engaging in rebellion. They also appeal only to the entitlement of "Laws of Nature and Nature's God." Nowhere else is God mentioned. They were mainly Protestant Christians--- or Deists with a good opinion of Christ. There were no Jews nor Moslems amongst them. Certainly they were elite--not by birth, but by intelligence, wide range of knowledge, bravery, prudence, and desire for what they considered a Just reason for government. Many of them lost all their property during the rebellion by reason of their signatures on the very same document. You are in error on a couple of points here. 1. I am not speaking from an empotional basis and 2. the founding fathers were largely born into a privileged status and 3. property that was "lost" by the framers was not only regained after the Revolutionary war in many cases enriched.
