Anonymous Coward User ID: 77312427 United States 03/12/2019 01:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it does look like a sheet of steel with a hole in it. there are no tracks indicating the rover was near it to drill in it. just to the right and up slightly there is a object that looks like a piston and connecting rod from a large diesel engine. |

Quoting: MrBrilliant [link to www.gigapan.com] What say you ? go to snap shots and look for the one with a perfect circular hole in the debris Good catch if you're the one who found that item. Absolutely artificial. Guys, I have to totally disagree with this conclusion. One of the things I professionally do in life is teach Cave Diving in North Florida. I can not tell you the COUNTLESS times I have seen stuff that has naturally formed in rock that looks like it should be man made. Perfect circles, squares, triangles, face shapes, horseshoe shape -- all these things DO form naturally. I looked at the pic and it instantly made me think "yup, looks like formations I have seen countless times while diving". Cryptographer |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 75491368 United States 03/12/2019 01:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Nero the Zero I haven't found your anomaly yet... what I'm trippin' on is the fact that there seems to be some sort of 'atmosphere' (clouds/smoke) around that hill that comes-up if you just click in a few times from the spot it gives you... Shouldn't be happening- that sort of visual diffusion is from 'stuff' (water vapor, smoke or other gasses)- of which Mars isn't suppose to have much- first time I have seen this in one of these "deep field' images. cool Of course there's atmospheres on other planets. The easiest lie they can use to make people think we're the only place that could have life is to lie about other planets not being able to sustain life due to no atmopshere. It's a crock of donkey crap. The damn moon has an atmosphere too, it's slight but it's there. The Space nerds who think they know it all will "well akchually" that the Moon's atmopshere is very thin, well that's true it's about as thin as near the top of Mt Everest. (Sherpa's can survive that) To make matters worse saying there was ANY type of atmopshere on the Moon was considered a wild conspiracy theory but they finally ahd to admit there is one. The moon's atmosphere is thousands of times thinner than the top of Everest. The atmosphere is so tenuous it has no perceptible effect on light, which is why pictures taken on the moon look "fake" to the no moon landing tards. It's also why the flag stirred briefly in one of the videos, making everyone think it was fake. Despite the very thin atmosphere there are winds on the moon. This was all called hocus pocus until recently when NASA said it's true. Was NASA lying now or then? Or both? |

Notice how the uh Rover never goes back to take a closer look at any of the hundreds of so called anomalies. Nasa is not very curious I guess. What's the Rover doing on Mars again? |

At first glace, it looked like a rock with like a circular saw blade sticking out of it but zooming in more I see the circular cut out. |

Squonk1960 User ID: 76733903 United States 03/12/2019 02:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It surely looks like some sort of sheet metal which has been blown apart -- much like a pice of debris from an airline/spaceship wreckage. The circular hole looks to be perfect, so intelligent design. Nous sommes du soleil. -- We are of the sun. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77174830 Norway 03/12/2019 02:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Object ain't metallic looking. Are you sure that's not one of the rocks the rover drilled on? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77404366 Otherwise it could be a weird shadow effect (well it is a shadow, but the shape of it is weird) This, it's a drilled, discolored rock. The debris went in the rovers vacum, detectors and filters for sampling. There's a slight layer of remnants from the finest particles of it, and some heat discoloration from the drill. A rock after meeting a drillbit, I'm pretty sure too. |

It is definitely no rock. Look at the sharp angles and is only a few centimeters thick-- much like blown apart sheet metal from a crash.
