Controlling the weather makes people rich. Controlling the food makes people powerful Here in SE PA, winter crops could not be planted because the fields were to wet. Youth trout started today, but they couldn't stock the rivers because they were too flooded, they stocked the canal by my house instead. This shit is real, the ground is saturated and can't hold anymore water. Period. |

Second year of massive wildfire spotlights need for more resources Quoting: TrustNoOneKS "The second week of March made one thing abundantly clear. Kansas does not have the resources it needs to fight wildfires of the size and scope that struck the state March 6-8. The largest of the fires, the Starbuck Fire, burned more than 500,000 acres in Clark and Comanche counties. Smaller blazes in 21 other counties added up to almost a million acres of burned grass, along with some no-till residue on farm fields. Thousands of head of cattle were killed, hundreds of miles of fences went down as posts burned, and outbuildings and more than 30 homes were destroyed." Quoting: tcs [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] This winter the ground here (near NYC) has been frozen for months. 3 or 4 months now. It's still freezing in the air, but even though fall was very mild, the ground froze much earlier than normal. Usually we get about 3 weeks of frozen ground in winter. Last year was a little worse than average, but this year it's months not weeks. Ice age is coming, I believe it. I want to move south. Frozen ground makes flooding worse. Instead of soaking into the ground, water just stays on top and deepens. . On Thursday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned that “historic, widespread flooding” would “continue through May”. More than 90 percent of the upper Midwest and Great Plains is currently covered by an average of 10.7 inches of snow, and all of that snow is starting to melt. That means that we are going to transition from one of the worst winters in modern history to a flood season that has already taken an apocalyptic turn for farmers all across America. At this moment, millions of acres of farmland are already underwater. Thousands of farmers are not going to be able to plant crops this year, and thousands of other farmers that have been financially ruined by the floods will never return to farming again. This is already the worst agricultural disaster in modern American history, and it is going to get a whole lot worse. noaa's own maps contradict each other. i don't believe this will be much more than an average spring in the eastern midwest. the western midwest looks wet though. daboo 7 is a fear monger and full of bs. |
