Restaurants in Texas now adding "surcharges" to bills for health care, pto, ect. | |

It comes with the territory that you don't get PTO, paid sick time and in most cases, health insurance. Why the hell should I pay for something the company WANTS to offer. A lot of jobs don't have PTO or paid sick time. You miss day of work-YOU DON'T GET PAID. Sick or not. When did it become a thing that people have some kind of right to get paid when they don't work? I don't get it. Yeah you're sick and you didn't make yourself sick but it's still a business and if you aren't there they should have to pay you. Period. |

Sorry but you shouldn't be able to take 6 months off and come back to your job. You shouldn't get any short term disability for your maternity leave either. You also shouldn't be getting paid for your maternity leave. No one made you have a kid. Deal with it. It's called life. |

Quoting: Katipo2017 Would you be happy to tip the cook or just the waiter who took the order? Cooks get no tips and yet they are the ones making the food. Servers take your order, runners bring the food and then the server gives you your check. No where along that line does the cook get credit or tipped. |

I thought the cooks etc got a cut of the tips. Any sarcasm in this post is purely intentional. |

They come in early and prep the kitchen which includes prepping food, setting up the front and back of the food line. |
