Are you vegan by any chance? Because there's a lot of videos lately on Youtube on carnivore channels with interviews with former vegans who gave up that diet because they were becoming sick, and one of the symptoms they all mention is bad, rotting teeth.

Re: Bad teeth decay
I have no idea where to start this, but I've been a frequent visitor to this site for about 10 years. I have no one to turn to, but I just have to get this out somewhere to get things started. To start though, I'm almost 30 and my wife is 27. We both have terrible teeth and it feels like we have no options. I've been at the same dead end job now for 13 years and I can't find another because of these horrendous teeth.

I don't make shit for money and have no insurance. I have to sacrifice a lot of foods in fear of breaking anymore teeth. Right now I've been oil pulling daily to hopefully not get any infections.

My wife is in the same boat as me but we want to do something with our lives but can't because of the shitty choices we have made concerning our teeth. But I want that to change so bad. We just don't want to worry about dying from bad teeth. It's such a terrible feeling having to worry about being embarrassed and constantly worrying about these.

Does anyone have any suggestions? And trust me if we could travel back in time and fix the mistakes we would.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76759123

look into using amanita muscaria mushrooms to help prevent and eliminate infections in teeth. Simply bite down on a piece enough to cover the tooth that is bothering you...

I had a wisdom tooth that was falling apart and used amanitas to elminate pain (can keep pain away for a few days at a time) and to eliminate infection. When finally I got an appointment to get examined for an extraction, the dentist was amazed it wasn;t infected...me too.
 Quoting: Jeezum Crow

I've been oil pulling so never get infections. I want to succeed for me and my wife and I want to do something about them so I can feel like for once that I have done better.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76759123

Have you tried oil pulling with cold pressed coconut oil?

A suggestion for something on the meantime. Allegedly people have reversed tooth decay. Coconut oil has amazing properties.

Coconut is my goto daily.

Glad to hear good results! hf
 Quoting: Fractals

Thank you. The coconut oil pulling seems to keep infections at bay and drinking water/coffee has made a huge difference in overall health.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76759123

oregano oil is really good for infection bottle is 10 dollars max should last like a year or more you get good mileage out of it it will shrink all swelling and kill all the bad in there

clove oil will numb an infected or broken tooth again fairly cheap one drop on area or qtip dipped in it and held to area

gargle with diluted hydrogen peroxide

saving teeth is expensive getting them ripped out not so much you can get a tooth pulled around 75 dollars roughly

maybe get the absolute worse ones pulled out

sometime people might have had a really bad fever and it will destroy your teeth as an after effect
at least you were lucky and the fever didnt kill you bad side effect of fever ruined teeth

dentures are expensive if you have to get them maybe check down south maybe a 4 hour car ride down south might save you 70 percent or more and you get a semi vacation

colleges should do it for pretty cheap but you will have to work around there schedule
 Quoting: dean007

The peroxide does help and clove oil was a goto but i find the coconut oil does best keeping infections away so haven't had pain any really in a few Yeats. Just sucks having to watch everything I eat and worrying at the same time.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76759123

maybe try the oregano its pretty incredible it will immediately shrink swelling good for cuts and scrapes and i think even as a cooking seasoning i would recommend it for ant ones first aid kit

Re: Bad teeth decay
I know a person that worked at a Church day care and had bad decay, The Church paid for a new set so perhaps your job may be willing to help?

I know most larger towns have a discount denture place. You get a tax refund? Credit Card? Those discount places offer financing.
Im not sure about a local dental school as I was a young girls final project as I thought I was doing her a favor, she had no idea what she was doing and hurt me just doing a cleaning... But perhaps your local dental school would know all the options in your area.

Start asking around OP, it will work out.

I really wish there was a government insurance plan for yanks. Dental work is really expensive but having an insurance plan will save you thousands. I am in the same boat as you, having terrible teeth. Ive already had 4 teeth removed, 4 intense fillings and am having another 4 removed for a partial denture. I would not have been able to get this done if it wasnt for my provincial goverments aid. If you are constantly having infections in the same teeth you will have to either get the teeth removed or have a root canal. Try to find any way to get some insurance or save up thousands for the work. Does welfare or government assistance give you benefits?

root canals are kind of a rip off when they do one they kill the tooth you then have a dead tooth in your head with an expiry date

you will be getting it pulled in 5 years then maybe 10 if your lucky

Re: Bad teeth decay
rot is from ACID, acid can be neutralized (after you eat... anything) with simple baking soda gargle. my teeth were bad, now I use -tip and clove oil (cheap) around gum lines, rinse with baking soda solution. cove kills bad bacteria and soda flattens the acid - dentist hates me - no plaque, no cavities, no profits. I rinse 4-6 times a day and after eating anything also. food IS poison (acid)

yeah thats the thing with root canals you will be back getting it pulled out

if you have to get dentures maybe just do the top teeth or just the bottom its only half fixed but also half price

the thing with dentures at least you dont have to keep fixing the crappy ones every year but yeah its still a crap solution

i find it interesting that there has been 0 dental advancements ever it has never gotten cheaper and they dont invent shit and its the most over priced service in the world

Thankfully since we started doing that a few years ago, the rotting has came to a standstill. For once I would just be happy to smile and be able to eat anything that I wanted to.

I live in Pennsylvania and I went to the local county assistance office and if you make poverty level income (I think it's somewhere around $20,000) and they WILL approve you for state funded insurance. I go to my primary doctor, the gyno, the dentist and it's all covered or very cheap

I'm telling you do NOT be ashamed to take assistance if you need it. I'm sure you've paid into the system many years and it's all basically money you worked for. Don't be ashamed.

And PLEASE PLEASE take care of your teeth. Don't eat super sugary stuff, always brush at least once or twice a day. DO NOT SMOKE. Floss, use mouthwash, etc. I buy my brushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc at the $1 store and I have no cavities.

Just ONE tooth is freaking thousands of dollars. You can't afford that much salvage what you do have. Worst case scenario you might have to go to the emergency room if you have a bad tooth ache or abscess.

Three months now of chewing trident xylitol and gum line has grown back and most cavities are filling in with minerals.only back teeth with no opposing pressure teeth are currently risky in my mouth.
I did about an hour on web research and toms mouthwash, toms tooth paste both with xylitol.plus the trident seems to report some success.

Its obvious sodas should be taxed and public dental funding should be prioritized.
Mountain dew mouth is a real disease at this point and needs funding.

And please don't take advice from this stupid ass thread. A loan is for a serious emergency because you'll be in serious debt afterwards. An wtf is oregano gonna do? Seriously, there's a lot of shitty, unproved and sketchy advice in this thread.

Oregano is used for respiratory tract disorders such as coughs, asthma, croup, and bronchitis. It is also used for gastrointestinal (GI) disorders such as heartburn and bloating. Other uses include treating menstrual cramps, rheumatoid arthritis, urinary tract disorders including urinary tract infections (UTIs), headaches, and heart conditions.

The oil of oregano is taken by mouth for intestinal parasites, allergies, sinus pain, arthritis, cold and flu, swine flu, earaches, and fatigue. It is applied to the skin for skin conditions including acne, athlete's foot, oily skin, dandruff, canker sores, warts, ringworm, rosacea, and psoriasis; as well as for insect and spider bites, gum disease, toothaches, muscle pain, and varicose veins. Oregano oil is also used topically as an insect repellent.

So it's my fault my parents were poor and only gave me the choice of sodas growing up? Yes I also didn't make things better when I stopped taking care of them when I moved out. But to be fair that's in the damn past and as I have said for the past few years I've been doing everything under the sun to keep them from getting worse.

take care of your teeth bub. I used to be addicted to Pepsi and Coke and I don't blame my parents. I just got done flossing twice after dinner and when I'm done typing this I will brush a second time. its up to you

I know this. A child doesn't know any better though. I can't do anything with the mug I have at the moment. I can't make teeth grown back though. Can you? Please explain.

To be fair, I still don't know what I want to as a job. I guess that's why I've been at the same one for 13 Yeats now. I do know that I work my ass off and I show up everyday. And trust me in my eyes that's hard to find anymore.
