Bald Eagle - Attacked My Pet Chicken ...!
It was a nice day, so I let the Hens out in the yard to forage.

Bald Eagle may be the symbol of America...

But to me they are nothing but Chicken Thieving Vultures...

She survived, but she got beat-up pretty bad, and lost a bunch of feathers, no serious cuts, or broken bones (That I can tell)...

She is hardly moving or walking around today, I guess she is too sore from her near-death experience.

If I can get-a-shot at that Eagle with nobody watching, I'm going to blast that bastard to Kingdom Come...

My Pet Chicken is a pretty fat & sassy one.

I think that's what saved her from the Eagle Attack?

She was a little more chunky than that Eagle anticipated?

I don't think I could eat the Eagle, it would be like eating a Seagull or something?

They have a lot of wing, but no real breast-meat.

The birds of prey are like that, we had the crows picking on the hawks this weekend.
The crows came into an area of trees where their nest was.
The hawks went off like screaming banshees.
The most precious things are the simple things in life, always present in the simplest of minds.

That eagle is more of a parasitic, opportunist, free-loader, picking on my inexperienced Chicken pets.

There are a ton of wild Rabbits around here for it to eat.

My Chickens live the life of Riley, lounging around, plenty of food and water, listening to Opera, Blue-Grass, and Symphony music.

If they were wild Chickens, then it might be construed as "Natural Selection"?

I got chicks and a chicken coop this year and now we have enormous bald eagles hunting in our yard. We haven't let the chickies out of their little run but they really want out.

And the worst thing is we have little dogs that are being hunted now too.

I think the Eagle might be better smoked, then grilled?

Apparently their are flocks of eagles of up to nine eagles hunting the little lambs being born.

I Know... When it's nice out they are practically begging me to let them out.

Then when they get-out, they don't want to go back-in.

I have to sometimes trick them with a treat to get them back-in the cage.

how you gonna bait that eagle in, close enough to shoot, without a chicken .... chickens are cheap, be glad he isn't after your dog ... or cat... or new-born livestock

I've heard that they are smart and won't return if you fire off a a few shotgun blasts in their direction

Sorry :( Is it a good idea to be announcing a felony on glp? Probably not.

Eagles are evil pet thieves indeed. I am not positive but do often think that eagle lovers don't have eagles living in and hunting their yards.

I'm with Ben, and wish we'd of opted for the turkey! (smithsonianmag says it's a myth but that sounds sketchy and suspect.)
