Aren't they obligated to if you have the money to pay for the service? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73295885 Most dentists won't do extractions anymore ...send you to a specialist Molars have 3 roots and if they're broken they have to dig them out - not many have experience at it and it takes time and strength I worked for an old-fashioned dentist that cut his chops as the Indian reservation dentist ... He did everything ... Lots of full mouth extractions ... And the dentists in his own group practice shunned him because he was so uncouth by doing xtractions when the Gov't or insurance wouldn't pay to do root canals ... He did those too. Sorry about your tooth OP - I've ha more than one split root to tip and that type just have to come out - not a root canal candidate. Otter root canal teeth get brittle and break after all that money spent Don't eat Milk Duds (cap removers) Don't chew ICE - breaks teeth Watch how and what you eat after age 40 to keep your teeth |

If your tooth's roots break during extraction they got to dig them out. Bloody mess. Any dentist should be able to recommend a specialist they refer. If you can't afford it, there are schools that will have oral surgeons in training. Sign a waiver and off you go. Smile |

Your body knows what to do. The tooth will die without treatment, and may get infected. But your body will fight it. It will port the rotton root to the outside of the gum line and you will have a foul blister along your gum. When this abscess pops, all the bacteria will drain and the infection will slowly go away as your body will encapsulate the remaining bacteria in a firm cyst like material. Eventually the tooth will begin to fall apart but by this time the body has sealed off the root cavity. This is not a pleasant process. It will hurt like hell. And it may take years for the dead tooth to break down. It's important to remain healthy and keep your mouth very clean while this is occurring. Just know it's not a death sentence. I've been through it a few times due to a phobia of dentists. The best treatment is to just get it pulled. |

Most of them charge $100-150 to extract a tooth. The dentists there are fast and do not lecture you or try to up sale you. The less teeth you have the more likely you will be in to buy dentures so pulling a single tooth is nothing to them. |
