I like those drumstick cones..I've noticed the price is about the same but they are 1/3 smaller than used to be and only have nuts on the very top instead of all over the chocolate covering like they used to.

Best way to get basic foods canned with a 25 year shelf life is prices are for a case of 6 #10 cans and they will let you work some $$ off by volunteering at the store or storehouse.

Re: Report: Food Prices
I am making this thread simply because I have noticed a gradual to drastic price in various food prices across the board at my local Brookshire's store the last time I shopped there two or so days ago. I noticed that chicken food product prices rose drastically while cheese prices rose just a little.

I figure the chicken prices are raising so fast and so high is because of all the vast flooding that hit so much of the Great Plains States earlier this year. That vast flooding destroyed so many farmers' lives, livestock, and properties. Most of their lives are unrecoverable. Tens of millions of cattle, chicken, and other livestock were drowned in the flooding last I knew.

Even beef prices have jumped up a dollar or more per pound recently too. Cheese prices shouldn't jump up too much in prices for a while longer due to I think many cheese manufacturers have up to a vast supply in waiting. This is usually due to aging various cheeses for specific reasons.
 Quoting: darkwolf007

Stop shopping at Brookshire's unless that is your only choice. Around here, they have the highest prices and the least selection.

Not only is eating out expensive, the service is pretty bad unless you go really high end. I can cook a fancy meal at home, even premium steaks or salmon and still come out cheaper than a restaurant.

Food has gone up so you have to shop carefully, but it is doable.

Re: Report: Food Prices
I raise half my food. I could raise all of it, if necessary. I can trap pigs on my land, have chickens, goats, and just a couple of cows. Two greenhouses, a high tunnel, and a trout pond.

I shop at Sprouts for 95% of my retail groceries and even sell them a little produce. Thing is, I'm not even a prepper. I just live a chill life in the country. No ARs, no bein' "Rambo", just a chill life.

I pay my taxes, am involved in my community, and I meet a lot of "normal" folk that live like I do. I think it's really simple to be on the grid, but be, a switch flipper. Which is what I call someone who, in the event of TEOTWAWKI or Poop Hitting the oscillating air disruptor, can live with what they got and protect what they got.

Many thanks to my grandparents for burning the lessons of the depression into my brain.

Meat is getting cheaper. Vegetables and fruits are getting cheaper.

Processed foods....box cereals or sausages or bacon are defibately getting more pricey

I wonder if meat processors are passing along increased labor costs of replacing undocumented workers with “real Americans”. If economics works like I was taught people will stop buying sausage at the higher price and the price will fall—the company will take less profit to keep its place in sausage world.

I am not a defeatist at all, AC. I am a realist, and I am not the only one on the Internet who has noticed that the Republicans are definitely losing Texas due to so many illegal immigrants flooding into the U.S. through the States bordering Mexico. Guess what, AC, Texas is one such State. The Leftists/Communists took over Austin years ago. Now that I have thoroughly disproven all of your allegations, AC, enjoy sputtering your mindless drivel elsewhere. I'll thank you for not derailing my thread, AC.
