I was just pulled over last Sunday.
Speeding, I knew it, Mercedes SLK350 top down - HARD NOT TO SPEED.
He came to my window, I had my lic ready for him, and I was nothing but pleasant.
I did not ask why he pulled me over I am just going to be 100% cooperative.
Ask me for my Lic and proof of Ins
Told me he pulled me over for SPEEDING - (I did not say a word)
PROBLEM I did not have my latest Ins card.
He said OK look for it while he goes back and runs my Lic.
He came back
I told him I can not find my Ins card but I assure you I do not leave my driveway without Ins.
He said OK he believes me and just have me a warning for the SPEEDING.
I was so grateful and thanked him. I went on my way.

If I would have started the conversation questioning his actions it probably would not have ended the same.

So many things wrong with video. Where to start. Officer could have at least told him why he stop him and that would have deescalated things. Driver was being a turd and argumentative. Just give him license and registration and be done with it.

Officer should have called for backup because he was putting himself in danger on the highway like that. He's lucky he didn't get hit by a car or the driver. The driver should have complied because he was disobeying an order and was being disorderly.

Officer did take a bit too far though. Officer saying he's going to have to shoot this MF.

lol, Then way at the end when the persons helping the officer tells him. That's all he wanted to know in the first place. SMH

The civilian saying everything is going to be alright.. Uh, yeah, cause your not the one going to jail. laugh

NOPE.

Not the time to stand up for rights. That's baiting an officer.
In the situation the cop is the one in authority.

Lol, baiting an officer. You probably think the patriot act is for your protection!

"Your honor, he had the audacity to ask me why he was being detained. Can you imagine?!"

"Well Officer, I hope you gave him the old one two. People should submit instantly to our authority. I mean, if you have a badge, people should just roll over and comply!!"

"I agree sir!!"

"Should we shoot him for impertinence?"
"Why not."
"Let's seize his guns first. He's clearly a terrorist."
"Indeed!"

Routine traffic control. Happens anywhere in the world. Police does not need a reason to stop you!

If he had showed his license, he would be good to go. Dump.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77925685

I know in belgium u guys do not know better you don't even have the backbone to stand up to your own government. You let your kids do the protesting.

But this is Mississippi, the law there states that a police officer has to tell you why he pulls you over.

Even in Belgium they need to tell you why they stop you and cannot take your id card, you have to show it but they cannot take possession of a legal document" Hence you ID-Card .. but yea, maybe first need learn the law before you say uninformed things.

Throttle check starting at 65 mph? Poor choice, especially when you see a cop watching you

On ramp, begin throttle check at 45 mph

Cop could have handled it differently. Both of them lacked critical thinking

Interesting how one word "speeding" would have been enough to satisfy the reason for the stop.

Citizen is then obligated to comply for an alleged violation.

Patrolman, according to the available video, didn't offer any information until about 11:19 in the recording.

Citizen knew exactly why he had been stopped and even offered that he had done a WOT for diagnostic test purposes. (which does not negate enforcing the speed limits)

yep - even if you hate cops and have a great reason - the cop is going to win eventually- cop could easily have 10 more police there fast if needed

side of the road is not the time to argue with them - they are at an advantage & you have the disadvantage- argue in court if you must but being a dick just makes situation worse
