Back in my high school one day there was a sizable fire in one of the wings of the building I was in. I was in Metal Shop at the time doing my own thing. I believe I was busy practicing my arc welding on some random pieces of steel I found over the course of the last ten or so minutes at this point in time. The fire was sizable enough that our Principal had declared a sudden half day and had our school almost immediately closed. In mere minutes the two general student loading bays of the school were overwhelmed with concerned parents.

I know this because I was in the middle of an arc welding practice session when I overheard a tremendous amount of commotion from many of my classmates out of the blue. I finished my line of arc welding seconds later, and the commotion was getting louder. I took off my arc welding mask and turned off the arc welder for safety reasons my classmates and I were strictly taught earlier that semester. I walked over to our teacher, Mr. Kirkpatrick, and asked him what the heck was happening. He looked at me super surprised as I walked up from behind him in the classroom. I looked him somewhat vacantly and bewildered because I didn't expect that kind of reaction to him. He said something about how I was going to be in serious trouble for starting that big fire on the other side of the building. I told him that I was busy practicing my arc welding in the last few minutes. I only stopped because of all the commotion.

Initially, I was the one to blame by apparently all of the school personnel and my fellow peers despite noone seeing me and me coming from the Metal Shop area. I became rather paranoid till the next day because I was just so certain multiple people were going to try to literally murder me for what they thought I had done. Instead somehow my "street cred" increased and I got various looks of respect from a number of people. This confused me and still does to this very day. By the next day it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to been an electrical fire from behind the cinder wall, not me.

But yeah, Blue State Rebel, when loving parents find out that their child(ren) has been involved in a potentially deadly situation they don't hesitate to storm the school(s) their child(ren) attend.

What's funny is they all say they want evidence as proof it happened, but when one of their own makes some claim the others never seem to ask them to provide proof. They just accept it as fact.
