Lots of communities in the central and north part of the country are hurting because mines, logging and other industry has been shut down. They need the injection into their economies and the jobs that come with them. If the pipelines were going anywhere but the lower mainland, I would support it, but not here. Prince Rupert already has a port, that would be the logical place to route it and they would have the support of locals and indigenous communities. Light travels faster than sound. I have next door neighbors that have only been here a year, refugees from Nigeria. I saw him take 2 cards out of the mailbox a few weeks ago. They haven't been here long enough to become Canadians. They do however have a rent subsidy paid for by taxpayers, kids are in school, and they probably get welfare too. A lady downstairs has lived here for 30 years, now she's retired and sick. Her pension barely covers the rent, and her savings are almost gone. Nobody helping her out. I offered to accompany her to vote, and she declined, said there was no point, we all know who will win.
