Very accurate description of what has happened to the entire Anmly soul group, which comprises millions of people. We reached out, and it was thrown back in our faces in a very calculated, selfish, spoiled brat manner for a ten year period.

I chatted with some fairly high up behind-the-scenes types this summer. They pay a lot of lip service to goodwill, but they are clear that they want the changeover to take 30-40 years. They want to string out the changing of the guard as long as they can, and continue partying it up in the subterranean while we suffer on the surface. Why should they even be there? Earth chose Us, not Them.

I might just be in a bad mood tonight, but I really think they are cold, icy, genetically insincere rich kids. Let 'em fester in their own juice.

One of the negative-cycle dynamics at play is this:

They don't want to own up to what they've done, or face the music, even mildly. This means they do everything they can to evade, prolong, avoid, and wriggle out of the unavoidable meeting. The more they avoid, the madder the rest of the universe gets, and the deeper they are held in contempt.

So the best thing to do is withdraw and let them destroy each other, Game of Thrones style. It's not like we haven't made our best effort.
