A cell phone nor wi-fi will NOT work in my master bedroom. So much copper/aluminum/ non magnetic stainless steel mesh is embedded into the plaster. Tested with the magnet method. Square Head,No Neck RFB User ID: 35158526 United Kingdom 09/29/2020 01:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I recently ordered some food and wait in the 6 to 12 week. To receive it, only to find I pretty much bought individually wrapped oatmeal and pancake mix. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78146241 No dehydrated eggs no dehydrated honey or butter for pancakes you’re supposed to eat with I don’t know what. So these are the 30 days survival buckets. Absolutely fucking comical you get about 10 to 15 pouches of oatmeal and pancake mix and 3 to 4 pouches of some kind of rice dish and then some kind of a noodle mix. The 30 day survival A&B buckets cost around two to $300 and it’s literally eight to $35 worth of food. With a vacuum sealer I could’ve bought a bunch of granola rice pancake mix seasoning. packed it and stuck it in the $10 bucket from Home Depot or splurge and buy a $15 bucket from Home Depot that’s food grade. Do not buy this is a joke and it will be on you. To top it off Patriot pantry it’s just a middleman the food comes from a company called ready hour. As RFB would say "It is what it is. If I can, you would see the difference on the label. Thing is, I have been using up and rotating stock. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78357329 United States 09/29/2020 01:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | IMO, you really have to research long-term storage food and pick and choose what you buy. I saw another thread on GLP of someone warning others about emergency food. They are not all the same for sure. The #10 cans are another way to buy this kind of food, as opposed to the buckets of various items. You seem to get more in the #10 cans and are able to pick and choose what foods you want. Another point that might be helpful here, is that this kind of food is emergency food, and you cannot eat it all of the time. It must be eaten in conjunction with real food. We think of it as something to have on hand that is simple to make (just add hot water) as a supplement to canned food IF that time should arise. And yes, some of the emergency food is not as good as others and they are taking advantage of the current situation of panicked buyers. It just happens, like with all merchandise that is proven high demand. Some people cannot can their own food, do not have thriving gardens or their own meat sources, so buying emergency food is their only option - better than nothing for sure. You can buy huge buckets of oatmeal already prepared, or buy your own and then place in long term storage containers to seal out bugs. Rice is another item you can buy in 20 lb bags and store. I recently bought 20 lb bags of flour tortilla mix and placed in airtight buckets. Add water and cook. Super easy! (I am a mom and wife and cook most things from scratch as I have taught my daughter to do as well. Emergency food will be like fast food to us! LOL) Dehydrated honey, butter and milk are also available in the #10 cans, as are pancake mix, dinner meals, etc. In case one needs to leave their location, the dehydrated foods will be much easier to carry than a load of cans and jars. |

You make some very valid points. The cans probably better route, also about people that cant do it them selves. But.... without garden you can do all of this from products you get-at a grocery store. Vacuum sealer mylar bags and raw food (staples) rice beans pasta and spices powder milk butter ect. Dont pay a premium for something you can do your self. And if thats to hard or you dont have the drive to prep your own, you probably won’t make it in bug out or in situations. Your probably to weak. Hypothetically. Im not talking about you personally. |

Never buy their kits. DIY... Best long term basic food is providentliving.org About a $1 a pound packaged for long term storage. for $600 you can get 475,000 calories apx 500 pounds, That is a years worth! Long term freeze dried entrees from augastons farms bought from sams or walmart online when you can get it! Some cheese rice meals are 250 calories for $0.25 a serving. Some entrees with real meat are $4 a serving ande everything in between. Do the math!!! serving size, calories, cost, est shelve life. Some have half the serving size for the same price. Some have TVP (soy) instead of real meat. FYI the company you mentioned kept sending shit every month for like 6 months after the 2nd month, I called and asked them to stop nope kept coming! disputed with CC Dear Brethren: Occasionally people speculate about possible disasters, which speculation engenders fear and can cause members to become caught up in emergency preparedness efforts that are not only costly but go beyond the basics consistently taught by the First Presidency...We continue to encourage members to store sufficient food, clothing, and, where possible, fuel for at least one year. We have not laid down an exact formula for what should be stored. However, we suggest that members concentrate on essential foods that sustain life, such as grains, legumes, cooking oil, powdered milk, salt, sugar or honey, and water. Most families can achieve and maintain this basic level of preparedness. The decision to do more than this rests with the individual. We encourage you to follow this counsel with the assurance that a people prepared through obedience to the commandments of God need not fear. |
