I found out that the toxins need to land in the toilet. Gout is too much uric acid that the kidney can't get of rid or so. Drinking warm water, about 2 1/2 L p/d helps detoxifying. There's herbs and stuff that can help the gut working properly. I take Epsom salt for example. |

Just watched this video and I’m seriously on planing for a 3-day fasting. My brain needs it. |

It could have been a detox thing going on, and perhaps fasting even longer would have cleared it up? Or perhaps get a better diet for awhile, then try fasting again. First, it will use all free glucose in the blood and tissue, then it will use the reserves of glucose by a process called glucogenesis. When those are over your body creates glucose, "de novo", out of other components of the body, namely lipids and amino acids, your fat, and to a more or less extent your muscles. Each step into the other isn't instantaneous and varies a lot with your basal matabolism, stress levels, focus & meditation ability, hydration & electrolytes, and even location, the regularity of the interaction with others, and much more. It is a good plan to learn to do it in stretches, moving more and more into food that is satvica, rather than rajasic or tamasic with would make more difficult a prolonged fast. Hydration is key, you could go way longer without food than without water, and electrolytes. Your body even works better with good liquids intake. The best if available is coconut water as it is similar to blood plasma, which is termed isotonic. Your electrolytes are essential for your electrical functions (heart, neurons, muscles) for the body and management of liquids within membranes and spaces, (edema, "extravasación de líquios", etc). I can't overemphasize how important to have appropriate hydration is essential. I can say bit more, it helps develop your "tapas" & your "kriyas", it strengtens your will and changes the balance of shakti/energy you have. |

Water only fasting with plain water is ideal. Adding other minerals to it will often cause problems. When the body is resting, no minerals or vitamins at all. I speak from experience. I dry fast one day of every week normally, and I have done 10-15 total water fasts. Usually 5-14 days long, but I have done two 21 day, and my longest water only fast was 41 days. If you haven't done it before work into it slowly, because it takes at least a couple smaller fasts to train your body to function correctly without food, and especially carbs. Most people have never gone without food long enough for their body to beome efficient at drawing what it needs almost completely from fat reserves. As a result you will feel miserable and have almost no energy when you fast for the first time. You will also feel quite weak and likely be cold as well. Once you have done 5-10 smaller to medium fasts your body should be familiar enough so that you can actually live a semi-normal life for the entire fast. For instance, I went to a bunch of garage sales on day 41 of my 41 day fast. It's amazing what the body can actually do. |
