I’ve had many cats, but none like him. I live on a farm, so there’s no shortage of animals here, but this cat... he was my soul animal. I’m sure of it. Anyway, I miss him.

Feel for you OP, my girl is on the way out, just had a month of holding her up as she had a major ear infection, up and down daily atm with elderly issues.

But she is a fighter, still plays and enjoys the sun/garden. The vet can get lost... trying to write her off,no heart some vets.

When she goes... Pretty sure that's the straw that snaps the camels back for me, lost all faith in humanity, my cat gives so much without uttering a word.

I didn't pick my cats for looks either. I took my time to find the best one. This Orange tabby was begging for attention rubbing on his kennel trying to see anyone that came in. He was first to greet me so I took him home. Saturday I went in to get a kitten but I ended up leaving with a black older kitten because she actually hugged me and grabbed my face and licked me. So I took her.
It's actually a rewarding experience it will really help you move on.

One of my cats passed away, and a few months later, while I was walking the dogs, a 6 week-old kitten came running up and greeted us all, and came home with us.

sorry to hear. I am dealing with a sick 17 year old cat. All vets either are booked for over a month and a half in my area or want to charge a huge emergency surcharge. They don't even let you in with your animal.

All my boy needs is a antibiotic shot. He might have cancer or the lump on his throat is his glands reacting to this. he has had this URI thing since he was a kitten, had it when we got him. took a few weeks for him to stablize, told it would flare throughout his life.

I found on amazon the homeo drops for cats for congestion. even has some silver in it plus a ton of stuff that i have had seen on here even for their anit viral and anti bacteria and fungal properties.

he is on day 3 of that and seems better. bought a tube of weight gain paste as well since he was not eating much. it has about twice the calories he needs a day and i put it on his paw and his licks it off. it also is loaded with vitimins.

I know none of this brings your buddy back OP, but may help others. I know how special they all are. I am really sorry for your loss OP

But I refused to kill my beloved calico cat, have her "put down" even on the vet's recommendation, so I had to watch her slowly die in front of me. It was terrible, worse than I thought possible, but I wanted to give her every minute of life possible.

I'll never forget her and wish I could have done better for my companion.

I think people like yourself like to be sorry fuckers too. Learn how to love an animal, or anything but yourself.

I held my 20 year old calico in my arms when she died and felt her essence enter me. Days before, I would lay a blanket in the sun and me and my dogs would surround her, like a family would, offering her fresh clean cool water, and tiny bites of tuna or chicken. She mostly slept but would wake up and meow. Our presence comforted her. The dogs understood what we were doing, saying goodbye to Sweetie. I bought her for $2.00 from a drunk on the corner who took her out of the litter at his mom’s house to sell for a beer. She was the best cat I ever had.
