Yes, and not just recently either. Don't understand how one could not. But.my list mof reasons would be much different than yours .

Well how could one not? If you want think the opposite then go ahead. For some it's not an assumption but faith or belief.

good and evil exist in EQUAL proportions ... all thing's manifested - including the Earth and this Solar System consist of BOTH positive and negatively charged particles in perfect balance - otherwise we would not be able to maintain our spin or orbit ...

so to even contemplate getting rid of one or the other is just an expression of one's ignorance of what IS

nothing is Bad or Good ... Everything is BOTH
(as exemplified by one earth day, that consist of LIGHT and DARK ...


the only "evil" that exists is ones will-full ignorance of the perfection that allows us to experience ALL that IS without judging it as "bad or good" - once we stop doing that - the "war" is over - everyone wins

It does not always triumph at the time of the event. in the next 7-9 years you will see good triumph prevail to the uttermost if you are still alive then. IN THE END, good ALWAYS triumphs over evil. ALWAYS!!

It's something for people to tell themselves as they turn a blind eye to getting screwed from every direction.

If Evil is triumphant all will end , no more creation , just distruction.

I disagree , there are millions of good deeds occuring across the planet all the time.
Each one a win relative to it's situation.
The news has always been disproportionately focused on evil because of it's shocking nature and in modern times, because of the ratings shock and horror pull.
The good deeds are rarely reported , from saving someones life to giving a home to a stray hungry kitten, a myriad of good deeds occur every minute of every day.

exactly.. the news cameras are always focused on negative shock stories. The ration of "good" happening to bad is likely a million to one.

so if you want to be discouraged and depressed, just watch the "news".

If Evil truly won , we would never have moved forward from the Spanish Inquisition, Genghis Kharn, Hiltler or the Salem witch trials, all that sort of behavior would still be around today.

Evil has it's devastating moments in history , but it's not the natural norm.

Otherwise we would not see any difference and perhaps not even have the terms, good and evil.

Evil is an aboration of the norm.
