"Roughly 6 million Southern California residents began June with new water restrictions, as state officials continue to implement water conservation efforts amid the state's worst drought in recorded history.

Beginning on June 1, residents and businesses in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura counties will have to limit their outdoor water usage to one or two days a week or have water volume restrictions, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) announced. In addition, all Southern California residents are being asked to cut the water usage by 20%-30%.

The affected agencies are: Calleguas Municipal Water District, Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Three Valleys Municipal Water District, and Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District."

It's somewhat interesting that both the megadrought in the southwest and the 'active' Atlantic hurricane season have both stretched over 15 years now.

Twenty-two years for the megadrought and seventeen years for hurricanes - both seemingly with no end-in-sight.

"Federal forecasters expect yet another busy Atlantic hurricane season in 2022: As many as 10 hurricanes could form, meteorologists said Tuesday.

The season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. An average season typically spawns seven hurricanes and peaks in August and September. If predictions hold true, it will be a record seventh consecutive year of above-normal activity.

“It’s really a strange thing that we’ve had six consecutive seasons be so active,” University of Miami hurricane researcher Brian McNoldy said."

The global warning of (not human caused) climate change takes its toll in western water reserves.

And those people who predicted, 2.5 years ago, that we'd be in some kind of Maunder Minimum (global cooling scenario) now based on a very weak solar cycle 25 were WRONG..obviously as our sun is quite active.
