Not to get you upset or anything...but a resident geologist
on the BIG LA PALMA THREAD (600,000 and counting upward)
reports that there is only 6 KM (3.7 miles) to go until
LAVA STREAM HITS THE OCEAN. (It's late.)

Here is the big volcano thread if you are too lazy to
scroll down to it! lol! Around Page 350 or so.
Thread: Cumbre Vieja volcano post eruption phase! Time to say goodbye for volcano-thank you for all support :)

He says at that point there will be a massive explosion.
He also adds that this may be a trigger for the landslide
...so it all may come down tonight when the Lava stream
hits to water and turns to steam and gas.

I can't verify this theory as accurate or not
...but
Chief Farty seems to know his stuff. Check the last pages
of the Volcano thread--around page 350 and look be looking
for for the chief Avatar picture. That's were he talks
about the SO2 gas. Sounds really bad.

I don't think the toxic gas will matter that much if the mountain falls.

no..NOT THE GAS...the lava explosion as a trigger for
the landslide they are concerned about.

The Title of the thread is "When to evac the East Coast"
I think this info is fairly significant.

Thank you OC - yes, I have been following that thread for days, however I missed this info though. I'm getting my stuff together to load the car and hit the road on a few minutes notice. There are quite a few GLPers in Florida, hopefully, we won't have to evacuate and outrun a mega wave!

I evacuated the east coast 40 years ago. Never looked back. The sooner you leave the better your life will be.

Ha, yes, well I literally just moved back here 2 weeks ago after a grueling few years & was looking forward to settling into a beach side community. Bad timing, right?

In in St. Pete FL, had my car packed since it started up on the 11th. If you can't get all the way out, a few areas near Gainesville are kinda high enough, and it's inland enough so maybe if you can find a tall sturdy office building it can give you some kind of an advantage? If it's over 100ft...eh. anyone's guess.

I used this topography map to find spots, it works for everywhere so search by state, but I clipped the FL page so it's easier.

My plans include the mountains in VA / WVA, if a tsunami hits me there, time to just paddle out and ride the wave where it takes me.

Not necessarily. It's possible nothing will happen.

Check GLP everyday and just be aware.

Don't fear, though. It'll be okay.

How far away from the coast do you think would be safe? I'm about 85 miles north of the city but about 3 miles away from the Hudson River up in the Hudson valley

You guys are going to be fine. No tsunami for east coast but we will have some major new Madrid problems towards the end of this year and into next. Those people should get out now.

Thanks, that's helpful - it's good to have your car packed & ready. I was checking the secondary roads out to Alabama, which might work, depending on the timing. With no official warning systems, we are relying on GLP for the 'go' signal.

Exactly. Had to zigzag with a hurricane evac, gas stations were empty and roads were full, took a tiny bit longer but bypassed all the traffic. Backroads all the way.

Re: When to evacuate the East Coast due to potential Mega-Tsunami?
More earthquakes and volcanic activity increasing today, the island is experiencing lots of action.

Is anyone familiar with The Earth Changes YouTube Channel - that fellow said there was an Emergency Broadcast System alert issued for the east coast but I can't find anything to back it up, if you have heard about one in your area, can you post updates here?

Thanks everyone, stay safe!
