I specifically remember that the Berenstein name was not pronounced 'stain.' Since I initially thought that it was 'stine' and only later accepted that it was 'stein,' 'stain' never entered the picture. Not STAIN, but STEIN. A 2012 episode of 'The Office' had a trivia contest between teams where one team named itself the "Queerenstein Bears." Not stain, but stein. It still exists as stein in reruns (for now). I guess that the whole end of the world thing in 2012 let this one mistake slip in. Quoting: Where Eagles Dare OMG! In my timeline, you didn't suck cock for weed money! Manderpla effect! Fucking idiot.... Where do YOU get weed money? Nothing about the bears, but numerous other effects. If you want to watch a random collection of residue playlist, there is one right here. Nothing about the bears in it though. Precisely why "stain" sticks out as wrong or changed to me. Our first daughter had tons of these books and I thought about the racial implications then so it WASN'T "stain" or the thought would never have entered my head. |
