Yep, people are jumping the gun on this. I think it is being sold to US suppliers from my take on the article.

However, we should still be producing more of our own oil, asas we were previous to this administration, so we don't need to use our "strategic" reserves.

It doesn't matter who it was sold to. It's our emergency supply. It should not be sold period!

I agree in theory, but in practice it is normal to sell some here and there. Makes sense if we sell when others need at a higher price, and buy back when the price is lower.
