The move came after overcoming a last-minute push by Poland to lower the cap, for which the European Commission had originally proposed between $65 and $70 per barrel. In short, the EU came down to Poland's price, which had become a point of contention for more than a week. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84516296 American negotiators worry that the EU embargo, combined with the threat of cutting off insurance and other services for vessels shipping Russian oil, will send crude prices upward, unintentionally boosting the Kremlin’s revenue. The White House hopes that the price cap will encourage the EU to relax its draconian plan to completely ban the importation, financing, and insuring of Russian oil shipments." So that makes two reasons for oil prices to go up. EU price embargo Cutting off insurance and services to Russian vessels. EU price embargo Cutting off insurance and services to Russian vessels. Both of which greatly benefit Russia, what are these EU tards doing? |

Russia has been supplying crude to India and China, India refines it and sells it to the EU at current OPEC prices. Same applies to China, they keep most of it but give alittle to the US. Winners are Russia/India/China. Loosers are the EU and the US. |

Refined rancid gutter oil sourced from China, comes to mind. Maybe add some vintage petrol from the 1940s, fresh from unused storage bins. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84874730 Germany 12/03/2022 05:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not about the kremlin ignoring the price cap. Russia isn't forced to sell gas to europe. If europe isn't buying, they are just going to sell it to other countries like china and india. Introducing a price cap just means that europe won't buy while others will buy at a lower price. Europe will have less supply thus driving the prices further up. |

Try putting a cap on the price at the grocery store. When the grocer asks you for 200, tell him that you are capping the price at 100, so that's all he gets. Report back with the results. Lazy Monk |
