So I hate Romney probably far more than you but I can't just let what you said here go unanswered...

I actually live in Utah and am fairly plugged into the state level politics here in Utah both in the urban northern counties and districts as well as the southern and rural Utah areas and I so wish you were "right about why he's stepping down"....

But you couldn't be further from being right!

So northern Utah is and has been in the process of taking in tons of refugees from leftist states like California and etc and is in the process "of being flipped to first purple then blue" just like the left did to Colorado 2 decades ago. (I lived in Colorado when that happened and watched it go down)

The thing you need to understand here is Romney is a Democrat in Republican clothing for one, and for two very plugged in with the rich high level Mormons who have dominated Utah politics for its entire time as a state.

"Romney stepping down" is a power play to "realign Utah politics" to what the people in power here actually want it to be...

What they want it to be is very much not a red state.

Now note I said the people who basically run and own this place don't want it to be a red state, not that actual utahns want it to change! (Especially in every part of Utah that's not essentially Ogden, Utah, and Salt lake county!)

The problem is that if they can control the election process in Utah salt lake and Ogden county there's not enough people in the rest of Utah combined to even slow down "the bluing of Utah"...

Utah is going to fall just like Arizona Colorado and Nevada have fallen, in every one of these cases Mormon stronghold counties essentially made sure these states turned functionally blue through stolen elections.

It's actually gotten so bad I'm getting the hell out of Utah if everything goes according to plan before Thanksgiving this year!

Maybe Utah will stay nominally red for 2024, maybe it won't.

But by an election or two after this one Utah will be lost... And Idaho won't be super far behind it...

If any of you are depending on voting your way out of this mess, just understand that the Republican party DOESN'T WANT TO WIN and is methodically handing control of state after state to be DNC very much on purpose.
