You should be more thankful the guy is willing to go the extra mile to actually fix shit, not many real men like that left out there.

I have ac, and a friend in the business who will pop over and fix it in a jiffy. I do easy stuff like clean drain line, change capacitors and relays.

The same thing most likely would be happening with a repair company. They fix one thing and it works for a bit, then you call them again with another service fee and they replace it with a new part and on and on. Better to let your husband order the parts and replace them one by one.

Expanding on this to add:

If you create a home situation where you're man doesn't or can't feel like the "king of his castle", then he naturally will not want others in his castle working on it.

If he allows professionals in his castle to assess and fix things, then instinctively he believes (and he is correct) that those professionals, being ACTUAL MEN, will automatically be able to see his poor choice in a mate. His poor choice in a mate reflects poorly on him alone of course, and make him appear to be of lower status to those other MEN.

He is correct in his instinctual beliefs. Real men will be aware of his abilities to choose a mate within minutes of entering his castle.
