Also I didn't think Olive Oil was a big thing in that period - I'm just asking out of curiosity here - was that when it was first introduced with Mediterranean immigrants coming over and not enough canola crops being produced due tot he dust bowl? |

Potatoes, onions, olive oil and.. and.. something else. Add some type of tomato sauce optional. Having been exceptionally poor I remember having potato dinners. Any combination of fried potatoes, mashed potatoes, stewed potatoes, baked potatoes,scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.. Of course the truly poor must be gravy connoisseur also. Water gravy, onion gravy, milk gravy, tomato gravy, red eye gravy, chocolate gravy, etc.. Stock up, you'll need it. |
